Here is my turn log. I will put up a couple screenshots in my next post.
Pre-turn - I find out it is turn 51, so I guess I'll play 9 turns and get us back on intervals of 10.
1700 BC (52) - We have that warrior fortified down there, and I don't remember reading why. I am going to take it towards the black, so we have a better idea of the surroundings that we plan to settle. Since we aren't doing any fighting yet, I take the newly built archer from Bergen to go goody hut popping, since we can actually pick up something useful on this level. Workers are headed down to Copenhagen to chop the forest and speed what will be barracks. The settler is headed for the purple spot on Kaiser Berger's dotmap.
1675 BC (53) - An Arabic town pops up on our map, in the desert to the southwest. Still no diplomacy options though, but I imagine it is only a matter of time before we see (and kill!) the Arabian scout. Wasted a couple worker turns, because I didn't realize the space southwest of Bergen wasn't roaded and moved one worker to the hill (headed towards BG by Copenhagen) and accidentally moved the other to Bergen.
1650 BC (54) - Reykjavik founded on purple dot, starts on Barracks. With the exploring archer I find furs in the tundra to the north. Copenhagen also starts on Barracks, as promised. Trondheim's settler is headed for the yellow dot, since the Arabs are to the south. I would like to claim a luxury with one of the next two, to ease the burden on our treasury (20% luxury in despotism on regent seems a bit high to me).
1625 BC (55) - Things make a bit more sense now. A Chinese warrior walks into the curragh's view, meaning the Arabs haven't somehow expanded all the way from the other island or other side of the continent. The pink of China looked the same as the pink of the Arabs though, so I thought the Arabs might be huge. Alphabet nets us Bronze Working and 10 gold (they wouldn't give up The Wheel for what we had), and now we are at war with China. I drop science to 50, which still nets Philosophy in three turns.
1600 BC (56) - Pop a hut in the tundra, and now three Bulgar warriors surround the archer. Science goes to 40%, and now we are getting 7 gpt and Philosophy in two.
IT - Two warriors die and promote our archer to elite, and one heads towards our settlements. Not to worried, as this is only regent and an archer will be finished next turn in Bergen and will be able to deal with any threat. China is so far away, there is no real reason to think about attack at least until we get galleys. Harrassment units would only net more contacts and get killed on the way.
1575 BC (57) - Not much happens. Philosophy next turn!
1550 BC (58) - We pick up Literature with Philosophy, and I start on Iron Working. I don't think the Arabs would have it yet, and I want to see iron on the map. At 70% science, IW will take 8 with zero surplus gold. Archer completes, settler completes, and both Bergen and Trondheim keep doing the same. I did sort of screw up with the barbarian though, as it delays settlement of our next site by a couple turns.
1525 BC (59) - Finish Barracks in Copenhagen and start on archer. They are usually dead end, but they upgrade to Beserkers here and since we are aiming for GL we should have some extra cash. Settler from Trondheim headed for blue spot. Someone else can improvise or make a new dot map. I tend to not do a great job, so I will do as directed.
1500 BC (60) - Pop the other nearby goody hut, and the Jutes teach us the Wheel! We have a source of horses within our borders, meaning this game is definitely going to be fun. Oslo founded at the yellow dot, and I start it on warrior (this is meant to be changed). Nothing else to report. We're researching at a slight defecit (-1 gpt) to get Iron Working, but that can probably be tweaked in a few turns to even out. I haven't started the Great Library yet, since I thought we ought to discuss its placement as a team.
