Vpr3- 5CC Babylon

Ok, got it.

@viper - for what exactly do you want to use Ellipi as a prebuild? Ellipi already has more than 500 shields in the box, so using it for the apollo program seems a big waste to me. I do agree though that SETI would be better placed in Babylon.

Apollo Program costs 500 shields, according to the editor. Is it like the palace being more expensive for a larger empire? Otherwise build SS Engine, available at Space Flight, and is 640 shields according to the editor. Choose one for one city and one for the other (the rest can build cheaper parts atm.)

Pre-flight check:
Ellipi already has 811 shields in the box, so unless we use it for SETI
we're going to waste a lot of shields.
I investigate Orleans and Athens who are building the UN.
Orleans has about 150 shields in the box and has 33 spt, completes in 21.
Athens has about 400 shields in the box and has 32 spt, completes in 15.
At 93 spt, Babylon would still win to SETI if it started 3 turns from now.
We can do that with a small pre-build.

When space flight comes in Uruk will have 365 shields in the box at 73 spt.
so it will need a further 3 turns to complete Apollo's. I doubt we can
delay Ellipi that long. So we will have to use Ellipi as pre-build for
Apollo's. Uruk will thus be useless as a pre-build. Switch it to wealth,
waste 73 shields.

1705 AD (1) - Build fortress on Greece landbridge.
1710 AD (2) - Switch Babylon to Coal plant.
1715 AD (3) - UN completes, switch to wealth. Two pollution :(.
1720 AD (4) -
Space Flight comes in. Switch Ellipi to apollo's before completion
and Babylon to SETI before completion. Apollo completes. Check in
on Athens, they have 10 turns left, we 9 :).
Set research to 100 percent on ecology.
Set Ellipi to SS docking bay, done in 3.
Set Ashur to SS Engine, done in 8.
set Uruk to SS cockpit, done in 5.
1725 AD (5) - Nothing much
1730 AD (6) - The Mayans and Romans sign a trade embargo against us.
1735 AD (7) - Ellipi, SS docking bay -> Commercial Dock
1740 AD (8) - Nothing much
1745 AD (9) - Uruk, SS cockpit -> wealth
1750 AD (10) - Ellipi, commercial dock -> wealth

Good set of turns. We're on the way to victory!

Recon: We're monopolistic on Space Flight. F10 says we need Robotics, Syn. Fibers, Laser and Superconductor. Are you all insane? The deals run out during my set! You're leaving diplomacy to me! Are you nuts? F3 looks pretty good. Considering dumping the army for the right build. Can we disband the army into SS parts for shields? Feeling militaristically challenged. Ship 67gpt to Hittites for oil and uranium. Ashur changed to Manhattan Project. Uruk to SS Engine. Akkad and Ellipi to boomers.

IT
Rome/Maya TE ends. Hittites kill Rome. Still have monopoly on Space Flight. All but Maya are getting close to researching it on their own.

1752
Maya give 365g + WM for rockets. Rush boomers at Akkad and Ellipi.

IT
Hittites and Greece ally vs. Maya. Ellipi and Akkad boomer to boomer. We lose our coal supply.

1754
disband the galleon. Drop science to 70%. Ecology still due in 2.

IT
Alex will give 9000+g and 24gpt for space. Not yet. Maya and France sign peace. Babyon SETI to tac nuke. Greeks building Manhattan Project. Greeks finish Manhattan.

1756
Uruk to tac. nuke. Ahsur back to Ss Engine, wasting 80 shields. Rush boomers at Ellipi and Akkad. Rush nuke at Uruk. Sell Alex Space Flight for 9320g. Decline the additional 118gpt he's willing to offer. We don't need no wars (he's furious with us and we don't need him in our debt).

IT
Ecology done. Start on Syn. Fibers. Science to 100%. Economy is at -163gpt. Asur is building something after the SS Engine. If only I was literate. Ellipi and Akkad boooomers to tanks. Uruk nuke to nuke. Decline UN vote.

1758
Boomer 1 sorties. Rush nuke in Babylon.

IT
Babylon nuke to nuke.

1760
Boomer 2 sorties.

IT
Greece and Maya sign peace. Ashur and Ellipi tank to tank. Greeks building Internet.

1762
Feeling lucky. Diplomatic steal (safely) from Greece, get miniturization. Costs 3400g. Investigate Athens. Insert favorite expletive here - they have SGL in Athens. Alex is Democratic, has 6 Mech inf. as garrison. Don't mess with Alex.

IT
Alex finishes Internet. Dyes lost.

1764
Rush nukes in Babylon and Uruk. Incense to Alex for the ridiculous price of 7gpt to hold off any war.

IT
Gems, wines and furs deal ends. Get gems, wines, furs, 35gpt for spices from Hittites. Hittites kill Maya. Joan wants MPP and ROP. No. ROP to Joan for Miniturization, iron, coal, 126g, silks. All cities now builing tanks. I'm just not comfortable unless we have tanks.

1766 zilch
IT nada
1768 zilch too
IT all cities tanks to bombers
1770 nada

Next player needs to start prebuild for exterior casing (640s). Storage is cheap at 160s. There are 4 boomers with tac. nukes deployed. 1 for each capital and an extra for the Hittites. BTW, all inf are now Mech inf. Consider dumping the horse army at the right time. We're up Ecology on the Greeks and French and Min. and Ecology on the Hittiites. Hope I didn't F this up.

Not bad. Athens sounds like a dangerous city, if we ever launch nukes I might want a couple there. I don't see anything wrong with a bit of military as long as we keep up in the space race.

just reread my last post. ROP to Joan was we give Min., she gives the rest. I may be stoopid, but I ain't that dumb.

I'm confused. We get iron, coal, silks, and 126g from France for Miniturization and a ROP. Were you referring to this:
I don't see anything wrong with a bit of military as long as we keep up in the space race.
That was more "remember to keep up in tech" than a reference to anyone's set of turns :)

Here are the biggies:

-World War has broken out, with Greece and France allied against the Hittites.
-We have nukes in range of Hattusas and Athens. If this doesn't get back to me, I suggest nuking them on the turn we launch for kicks.
-Greece has Satellites, and we have 4 to go on Superconductor.
-Prebuild in Babylon can be used for one of the parts that will become available with Superconductor. You'll have to switch it during interturn though.
-We have 5 parts done now. Half way home!

SAVE

Preturn- Steal Sattelites from Greece or 3600 something gold. Switch Ashur to SS Thrusters and Babylon to ICBM (prebuild)
IBT- We lose Oil and Uranium! I need both back...
1
I get 1995 gold, Oil, and Uranium from the Hittites for Miniturization (no GPT, rep trashed.) Uruk is getting badly polluted so I start a Mass Transit System.
IBT- Alexander demands Ecology. Tough decision... I give in. SS Thrusters complete
3
IBT- Superconductor==>Nuclear Power
4
Uruk was starving, irrigated and it's better now. Babylon switches to SS Life Support and Ashur switches to SS Fuel Cells.
IBT- SS Fuel Cells and SS Life Support complete! Only 2 parts left! Hittites and Greece sign peace.
5
IBT- Say no to elections.
7
IBT- We lose the wine and gem supply. And silks and iron and coal. Now Alexander wants Incense. He's gone insane, I say no. All 5 cities riot.
8
Get Furs, Wines, and Gems back for Incense from the Hittites. Buy Silks for 208 gold from France. Dyes from Greece for 256 gold. Nothing changed... That doesn't make sense.
IBT- Order restored. Hittites build SS Docking Bay.

Summary: Nuclear Power due in 4 turns. Just 2 spaceship parts left, most AIs have 1 or 2 (I think.) Edit: Not 1 or 2 left to complete, 1 or 2 already complete. Just research The Laser and the Robotics and we've won. To whoever wins: right before launching the nukes and the spaceship, it would be nice to have a save for the rest of us to launch nukes and watch the spaceship movie. We're building a lot of ICBMs. When we get a spaceship part just change one of the nuke builds, it'll work as a perfect prebuild.

First IT, and Greeks attack our submarines, with Tactical Nuke I think, and now we are at war. I played one turn cleaning up the few Greek units, but Keiji mentioned wanting to do some warring turns, so I though I'd turn it over if he was still interested.

*gloup* Are you sure you want to turn it over to me while we are so close to winning? I mean, sure I want to do some warring turns but I don't really have much experience with modern era warring. I wouldn't want to mess things up while we are so close to winning.

Just use artillery that we have to knock off a few hp, use bombers to try and knock of the rest, and then if there are still units leftover, bring out a tank or two to finish the job.

Well a things went reasonably well until..... Euhm, see for yourselves.

Pre-flight check:
Alright here goes nothing. Wake up just about every military we have save
for the defenses. We sink the two visible Greek destroyers with a combination
of artillery and bombers. Move a stack of tanks and Mech infantry into Greek
territory. Sink another Greek destroyer. Reduce research, still 3 turns to go.

IBT
Hittites demand spices, I cave in.
Lose two mech infantry to the Greeks. :(
Babylon and Akkad complete ICBM's start on mech infantry.
1814 AD (1)
Destroy one tank and a destroyer by bombarding.
Redline a transport. Retreat our tank stack in Greece.
IBT
Ashur, ICBM -> modern armor
1816 AD (2)[/B]
Upgrade 11 tanks to modern armor.
Sink 4 destroyers and 2 transports.
Lose one bomber in the process.
IBT
Our mech infantry and the landbridge succesfully defends
against a modern armor losing one HP.
Nuclear energy comes in -> laser in 10.
Babylon, Akkad, mech infantry -> mech infantry
Uruk, ICBM -> ICBM
1818 AD (3)
Decide to take a decidedly larger force into Greece territory.
Massive bombardment on Mycenea. Destroy 4 improvements and 1 TOW.
Redline mech inf.
IBT
Ashur, mech inf -> mech inf.
1820 AD (4)
Raze Mycenea by killing two mech infantry. Bombard Athens with bombers.
IBT
France and Hittites join the fight against Greece.
Babylon gets a nuke on it's head!!!!!
We lose all our supplies, everybody riots.

So ummm...., could I have seen this one coming or is it just bad luck?
Perhaps I should take an apprenticeship with AK to become a complete idiot?

Bad luck... Take all the Greek slaves and make them clean up the whole mess  :whipped: But now they deserve to be destroyed :mischief: :satan: . So I guess you should get all the polution out, rework the tiles (including railroads- do we have iron and coal?) and try to grow FAST! Build more nukes and modern armor and destroy Greece :nuke: :devil2:

I love how they have so many  smiles for times like this.

Anyway, Keiji, do you want to continue or give it to AK? I don't mind either way.
