Hi,

This is a new standard size map of the WH world. For inspiration I used various maps both official and fan made (I will post a screenshot of the most important one).

This map is compatible with Embryodead's WH mod, patched by Mr. Do, Aaglo and Mrtn. So if you have all the patches (last one is WH2.20) the map should work just fine.I did not include the WH2.20Magic because I didn't know if all the people would like this.

If you want to play this map but you don't have the Warhammer mod or any of the patches, you can find them here:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=128258&page=50.

I must also give credit to Embryodead's map of WH which I used to figure out the starting locations of the Orcs and Goblins.

There are two new resources in the map which you will not find in the WH mod: dragons and oasis. The first is a strategic resource (very rare) and can be used to build dragon units, while the latter is used as a bonus resource for the desert terrain (I don't have to explain the reason ;) ). For the people who don't like the "dragon" ideea, I posted a second version without the resource.

To play the map just unzip this into your ...\Conquests folder.

UPDATE - Version 1.03 of this map is now available.
I think this is all I had to say.
So enjoy and send me some comments :) .

Cool! I'm going to download it and play epic games on it (I'd best make sure I don't make mountains impassible, though).

Looks remotely Earth-shaped, it seems. (I've never seen a map of the Warhammer world before...)

Scytale, are you a ghola? ;) (Am reading the Heretics of Dune at present...)

Mithadan, i'm glad you like it. Not all the mountains are impassable - I used this to make passes and to keep the AI from settling the wrong places. So don't wary there are plenty passable mountains.
I don't know about beeing a ghola...my memories are not activated  .

Yup. The Warhammer World bears an unmistakable similarity to ours, and moreover the inhabitants of the different regions often resemble those of the corresponding regions here.

Huh, I wonder what "Araby" means? ;)

...I suppose with the exception of Eskimos...

Cool, I realised you did put in some mountain passes after I opened the map in the editor, so I will be playing this with impassable mountains. I used all your original starting positions too (mostly), so sometimes I changed a few mountain locations to direct the AI in a different area (e.g., I didn't want Greece heading into France, but rather south-east towards the Med & the Levant).

Well, the civ described above are the Hordes of Chaos, and they live far north, so -the Eskimo reference ;)

But yeah, its really really based on the real world. Orks i.e. are based on the Scottish Highlanders, descending from the mountains and highlands, making some mess, and going back. Thats what they say in GW, anyway. To me it looks like they could be based on any other higlander civ.

But I alwasy wondered what are the Chaos Dwarfs based on?

That Greece thing you are talking about is Tilea, based on the Roman Empire and the Greek city states, so heading into "France" is not out of the question :)

The WH Old World while pretty close to our Europe is a different world. Tilea is neither Italy nor Grece and the pass that leads into Bretonnia(France) is shown on all Old World maps. Anyway that pass opens into a region that could be both estalian or bretonnian territory.

About the other regions, I playtested the Empire, Bretonnia, Tilea and Norsca and made the update to the maps. In a few days I will finish play-testing all the other regions and the map will be completly fine.

Cool. I'm looking forward to playing this map next.

I had no idea the Orks were supposed to be Scotsmen! Hilarious!

Woohoo, it's finished! :D I expected an updated version of your old map, but this is even better!

I'm glad you like it :) ! In fact you convinced me to give this map another try in the first place...and i'm happy you did! Have fun playing it!

Btw, version 1.02 is uploaded. The High Elves, Norsca and Khemri are now completely play-tested and ready to start fighting  !

Um, someone I know is about to launch 1000 skeleton warriors on Ulthuan :mischief:

And someone I know might build a mighty fleet and sink all the ships loaded with a 1000 skeletons :p  .

Khm, he would have to have more than 300 ships, cos the guy I know has 130 assaulting ships for decoys followed with 170 transports

Edit: OMG, I just reached the Ulthuan`s waters, and the border was dark red :hmm:... one turn after I reached the cliffs of Ulthuan`s coast, and the guys I saw over there were looking surprisingly non-elvish .. So there was my legion of undead, skinny dipping, and sunbathing , and basicly just looking hopeless (as far as the battle part is concerned), and on the shores of Tripoli, khm, Ulthuan, there was a bunch of Great Unclean Ones, looking very mean! Time to go back home, and hire some Ogres. About of 100 of them will do the trick.:evil:

I dunno how to do that, anyway, I abandoned that game (it wasn`t even on your map, it was a random one), and started with Bretonnia on your map, and am currently getting my butt kicked science wise.

Those damn Tileans came demanding 21 gold, I said no, they declared war...and then nothing happened for 40 turns :) Gotta love those mountains heehe..

Finaly they invaded with 2 mercenaries and an infantry unit from Westerland!!, and with 4 battle mages from where should be Bretonny-Estalian border, but in this game its Wood elf territory. All this happened when I already forgot about the damn war ;), and sent an invading army trough Westerland to capture Praag cos it had 3 great wonders, with the idea of conquering Westerland along the way, you know, just for kicks :)

So I ran into those 3 poor Tileans near Marienburg, and crushed them. Then, Tilea got a right of passage agreement with Athel Loren, which resulted in fast withdrawal of my units near Marienburg, and getting a mutual protection + right of passage with Ariel, so when our first skirmish on my territory occured, the War dancers jumped in too :)

But I think I`ll get my butt kicked if the Wood elves fall, cos I`m still far behind in science, I still haven`t got magic and everyone else is in the Age of magic! I ran into some money problems at the beggining, and 10 on taxes was the only thing that coul`ve saved me from disbanding my invading army... But I don`t think much will happen, cos Ariel sent a stack of doom, but it went trough Westerland too, so I suppose it`ll be about 40 turns `til something actually happens again :)

I`ll wait `til my agreement with the elves expires so it doesn`t piss them off, and then make peace with Tileans, if they don`t ask for too much. Then, Marienburg is mine!
