Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.1

If you still decide you don't want it, ok nevermind. Didn't post here to struggle against prejudice. But coming to the point that's relevant for me:

I have looked at that, and I still think the graphics look like crap..... and I don't have anything against you personally. I just have a pet peeve with people coming here from the Civ II 3D Civ IV forums and bragging about how much better Civ IV (a.k.a. Civ II 3D) is than Civ III. If I'd have been convinced of that, I'd submit to the sheer torture of editing using XML (ugh!:ack: ) Python (Double UGH!:ack: :ack: ) and Blender (Quadruple UGH!!!:ack: :ack: :ack: :ack: ) or shelled out the $3000 to buy 3D Studio MAX, but I don't, so I don't want to hear anyone harping on how I'm "wasting my time" modding Civ III or how much C3C "sucks." As far as I'm concerned, Civ IV = Masters of Orion III, and nothing I've seen in the Civ IV forums has done ANYTHING to convince me otherwise.

However, to get back to your original request; Here's a suggestion (and I'm only suggesting this because it's a method I've used): Run a Google search for articles pertaining to Warhammer fantasy. That's how I got about 65% of the data I needed for the Final Fantasy mod. Or, if that's too much work (and I'll admit that wading through 100 pages of useless crap to find a few good bits of information isn't the most fun in th world), I'll pop open the BIQ file when I get home from work, and Post ALL the info for the factions that you requested.... Leaders, cities, the whole nine yards. Just be prepared to do a lot of scrolling, because it's going to be one long post.....:crazyeye:

Hey, I've nothing against people modding Civ 4, but could we keep this thread for the Civ 3 WH mod, please?
It's long enough as it is...

thx this'll help alot. Btw I'm googling alot but the other 35% of the info I hope to find in the civ3mod files;)
And seriously wasn't my intention to say civ3 is crap. Used to love that game I'm just trying to mod civ4 to make a game out of it I even like better cause I love 3D:D

And mrtn:
don't worry after I got the info I'll leave you alone again.

I'll post the info in the Civ IV WH mod thread, as per MRTN's request ;)

I'm sorry I took your intent the wrong way.... It's just that we've had several times of people coming into the Civ III C&C forums and say that those of us who still mod Civ III were idiots because Civ IV is 500% better (and I might just aggree if Firaxis were to ship a full editing suite, along the lines of Sierra's Half-Life Software Development Kit, that had a built-in .nif 3d editor that a non-geek person could use, as well as a graphical XML and Python editor, like Age of Empires III has for scenario creation).....

Anyways, I'll be posting the info in the CIV IV thread shortly, so stand by....

thx alot, man!

Could we have this in the next WH update? The Empire's engineers know how to build big guns, eh? Not only the dwarves:D
(Sorry to put this here, but this way the whole WH community will see it and may want to see it done:mischief: )

Altough that's a fine piece of work, Empire has already two gunpowdered siege units. So I don't see how that could be added in this epic mod. But who knows what future will bring.

@ Mrtn
I tried re installing, but it still seems not to be there. I've been looking for the flcs and pcxs, but they seem to of evaporated. Is there a way to get them by themselves without re- downloading the entire file?

Did you install 2.11 to the right folder? If you have English language XP and old civ 3 it should be installed to C:\Program files\Infogrames\Civilization 3

Do you have civ complete or vanilla + c3c?

@aaglo
And what about the pure beauty of making things just for Art, knowing that they won't be of any use? :crazyeye: Just to see it moving... no? ain't got a little time? ok then...

Just a thought: if skavens can use other rats for transport (cf. bilge rat), they could have mounted units (skavens on rats), just like this one, Nurglich:

I've got c3c. I'm going to try to re-istall my 2.11 and send it to he right folder. I've been trying it out without the dwarves though. I'ts a really good mod.

I've been able to run the original WH2 mod (WH 2.0) just fine, but I'm having problems loading this one (WH 2.1). Whenever the load bar appears, it gets up to about 60%, but then says "Art\Tech Chooser\Icons\SiegeEngine-small.pcx" cannot be found. It then closes Civ3.

I have this installed to the correct directory, and I see that file in the Conquests\Art..." folder (but not in any other folder). I've looked at the W2 expansion pack Art files, but it doesn't look like it should even be trying to pull up that particular "SiegeEngine-small.pcx" file.

Any thoughts/hints/tips/suggestions?

Thanks!

Edit: I had been able to run the original WH 2.0 just fine. I just tried it again, and I'm now receiving this error with both 2.0 and 2.1.

hi, wanted to try this mod but i'm a bit confused on what to download exactly and in what sequence.
good you give me some help?
btw are you going to create a complete (one zip) version?

You need to install five files in this order:

WH Mod 2.0

2.02 Patch

WH 2.11

WH 2.20

and

forgotten Resources.zip

I'm not sure, but we talked with mrtn, and thought of compiling the patches 2.02, 2.11, 2.20 and resources in the upcoming patch 2.5... but we are definitely going to reduce the number of files you people have to download.

About installing them, you'll have to make sure, that all the mod files are installed to the civilizationIII/Conquests/Scenarios/WH2 -folder (except for the leaderhead animations, which should automatically go to the civilizationIII/Conquests/Net Art -folder).

Perhaps the front page can be re-worded to indicate this ... I believe that the .rar file could be the problem ... I ended up manually moving files.

Forget the tongue, you need the sarcasm smilie!

It was an honest "?" since sometimes patches don't include everything right away. Now....when will it be out? "Soon or when it's ready?" :p
