Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.1

Well, we'll see what people think about it, if most people seem to prefer this it could replace the official version.
But it's very easy to make, it took me 5 minutes, so it shouldn't be a problem to update both versions.

Let's just say that I should playtest stuff before uploading, and leave it at that...:mischief:

Sorry, I can't try that mod out until I get a new pc - my current one isn't just going to co-operate with me. I hope the AI handles them well too - them magicians being flagged "defensive" and all... :)

Hi. I didn't want to post till I got the chance to play a bit. But now I really had to say it was worth my time. Check out my WARS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN mod guys. People helped me improve it a lot.

I did make refference to WH2 there too. As I played with Sylvania I realized i not only chose "Dracula" to play with but actually the best civilization in the mod (sci and mil are my favorites-Germans in the normal game). Besides, the Undead units are awsome. No upkeep and so cheap!

Just wanted to thank you for making this and to make a little advertising to my own mod. Keep up the good work.

Just one suggestion: Why don't you guys make a bit of order here. I mean there are so many patches here, one doesn't even know what order they should be downloaded. And I got the message that Harad Swordsman was missing and that the Magician unit has some bugs in the ini file but I kinda sorted them up for myself. My suggestion would be that anytime you post a new patch, let it show in the top too so people wouldn't have to scroll through all the thread. Thnx again for maiking me lose so much time with this!

Did you check out the first post recently? It's as up to date as can be. :p

I forgot to change the Chaos Warlocks in the magic variant, yet another biq uploaded.
 
Hey, I been away for a while. But I wonder. When the skavens arrive as a new civ (And Thanks for that :goodjob:), which ones will be the new Barbs?
I saw Lizardmenrules bear and thought this one was designed for this purpose perhaps?

I just don`t get how people have problems installing it, its no big deal, I didn`t have any problems with 2.0 or 2.11, and when I was installing it, I was a huge noob, that didn`t have a clue of what he is doing (I`m not much more advanced at the moment, tho ;)). Just read the instructions... Or maybe it was just luck :hmm:

I think WH for Civ4, with this kind of quality, is gona take a looooong time to get made. Like, 4 or 5 years or something :) Besides, there is no way to make new meshes for units, for now. Or did someone succeed?

I don't agree! We don't need new units to make a civ4 Wh mod. Someone has already made a dwarf civ, a goblin and an elven civ. There is quite an abundance of fantasy units made for civ4 (different skins of course). There is even a fantasy mod that has been released.
Besides WH for civ3 wasn't born overnight with those great units from aaglo and kinboat and the others. It took a very long time and I remember when the Khemri had only a couple of units, the skeleton warrior being their main unit.
So all we would have to do for now would be to come up with a tech tree for the whole game and to replace the civs. It would be a start.

For now this is as good as it gets (civ3 I mean) but I can see the potential behind civ4. And yes we were saying the same thing...I just got it wrong: I thought you were saying that even a beta WH for civ4 would take years to make because we don't have units yet. Sorry I read in a hurry:crazyeye: .
 
The reason I had trouble installing was that 2.1,by default, installs to C/Games/ civilisation although it looks as if its going to the right place ,its not until you watch the installation that you realise this.I changed it to c/programme files/infroactive games/civilisation/conquests and it worked perfectly.
I know Mr Do said he'd laugh at us but its not instantly clear ....plus the bottle of red wine didn't really help my clarity !!!

Some Dumb Heads in Germany doesnt know how to install v2.11 or should i ask if there are more(2.20??)? :confused:
The rar file has got the v2.20, the exe v2.1.
Is that right, that the rar file has already v2.19 included?
Our game is currently on v2.02(it was quite difficult to install, cause we`ve had to install it on Harddrive E, we´ve got problems with the exe, but we solved it).
Sorry, i searched the forum, but haven`t enough time.
Is there the possibility to make one downloadable Mod of the actual Version, would be much easier. Don`t yell, we are only users no modders but great fans of warhammermod.
Great work, we`re playing for one and a half year, and i guess there will be no ending.:p

@Hawkmoon: 2.1a was a different version of the mod made by Mr. Do, but that hasn't been updated to the 2.20 rules.

Sure no problemo, it`s installed already, but now i`ve got a problem with the norman knight.ini:(
The game ends cause it cant find the ini file.

Then you didn't install all the patches, that was fixed ages ago. :)
Install 2.20 too (and the little 2.19 resources patch I forgot).
The "starting text" tells you what version of the mod you're trying to play, it should be the WH2.1.biq, and the starting text tells you it's 2.20.
