Warhammer fantasy units/graphics preview/development thread

Hmm I still think the skin is too grey.

Perhaps more of a flesh tone? The grey feels more trollish to me, yeah. This is more from a D&D perspective, as I have no experience in Warhammer, though the source is quite similar after all.

hmm.. ogres aren't humans, so why should their skin be brown/flesh colour? The warhammer ogres have grayish brown/green skin.

here's a leadbelcher, who has some warpaint on him (the blues). I'll propably make him a different gutplate too. And I could propably make his skin a bit 'browner' or closer to flesh-tone :mischief:

Not sure if I would call that brute cute to his face though

Cool, If you are going to give him a lot of war paint I'd recomend no civ colour on his gut plate. Actualy a red or orange sun would look good on the belly shield, representative of what enemies would see in thier last moments. :)

Thanks for the comments & suggestions :)

Here's an updated preview of the leadbelcher:
- edited skin colour
- overall re-defining of surface modifiers
- edited gut-plate
- added scraps to the cannon (which the ogres use as ammunition - broken weapons & such)
...and some other minor tweaks

Oooh, I love the junk in the cannon, and the more flesh toned skin. IMO the more "human" twisted humanoids look, the more disturbing (in a good way) they are. If it doesn't fit the WH universe though, don't change it just on my account. :mischief:

Looks good! Two comments though:
1.) the facets on the stone look a bit cartoonish
2.) If possible I think it would look more natural if when carrying the hammer in the walk or default if he were to choke up on it a bit (carry it closer to the head) I understand that they are much stronger than normal humans but I think they would carry that beast of a weapon in the most comfortable position possible.

I think it looks excellent. I've no suggestions. :)

I think the facets on the stone should remain unchanged, though. While Mistfit may think they look cartoonish, I would point out that many thing in Warhammer look a little cartoonish, and the way they are now looks excellent at civ scale.

Yes, Yes it does. I still have to scrounge up money for the next check.

Here's an ogre irongut - with a 2-hand hammer ...

Don't change amything. It's spot on. If you fiddle with it, chances are it'll only get worse.

Looks excellent to me, I'm going to have problems with these guys as I'd like to add all of them to MoM.

Also, wouldn't this be a lot more suitable for olog-hai than the ogre bull?
