Hey, for those who like the Warhammer 2.0 mod I'm sure the annoyance of having Araby or Slann start on tundra and similar geographical sillyness of a random map has come up once or twice.

Its certainly annoyed me :), yet if I "correct" or make a map it takes alot of the fun out of exploring the unknown.

So anyway I was hoping people would post any random maps with preplaced starting positions or funky maps they've made themselves to help me out...

Here's one I made myself from scratch featuring preset starts, though not cities prebuilt or anything like that.

Small changes from orginal mod - Can't build cities on tundra. Volcanos can have warpstone on them. Resources are random but I've tried to make sure each start is okay. Make sure you check where High Mountains and Steppes are...

This is a huge map based on a swedish RPG (the map only). Note that I have unchecked the improvement maintaince for undead state, since I think they are extremely underpowered. I have slightly modified the other government too (not much, you will see in the editor).

Hey guys, here's one I enjoyed myself.

It's a Wheel of Time global map made by CamJH. I converted to WH a few months back and set the starting locations. I always enjoyed playing on it myself. Decided to share it.

Your map looks very cool DemonMaster! :) What game is it from?

The game is Drakar och Demoner, the version that uses the world Ereb Altor.

Drakar och Demoner is kind of a board game, right?

Should I quote myself earlier in thiss thread when I said it was a swedish RPG (RPG = RolePlayingGame). I hope it was a joke.

Ooops, i must have missed that... :crazyeye: But isn't Drakar och Demoner a game were you have a map and some sheets with heroes and stuff and tell a story or something, as well as a computer game?

Thanks guys, started playing Demonmasters map with a random civ - drew Naggaroth (who seem to have a crappy start :) ) on monarch had a bit of fun with that elite DE Spearman you get; shipped it over to the dolgans, took an empty city, fortified, defeated 7 warriors and 2 archers, moved and took another city with it and a back up, got 2 more cities for peace :)

Good times

I made another map in wait for my coffee. This map is basically a randomized huge map with preset civs. Hopefully it is playable (I have checked it, but not actually played on very much).

Okey, this can be harder than it looks, a tiny island with six small tribes, who will it be, the one who become...... bla... bla. Tiny map with six preset civs (no elves). Perhaps its time to go for conquest on this one.

Hey DemonMaster, I really like the geography on your Ereb Altor map! I tried playing as Nippon and got my butt handed to me by the Lizardmen to the south. The arabian-type civ to the north (I forgot their actual name) proved unwinnable as well. :(

Both of them start in cushy resource-laden grassland while I start in badlands-infested plains. Kinda unfair, huh? Are you possibly planning on a revision to this map? I'd love to see it!

The map isn't playtested fully, I have played (mostly) western civs so far, and yes I have found some bad things, it seems that the Bretonnians needs some extra resoursers (or better terrain) and I can imagine that the northeastern civs can have a to good start, perhaps their starting terrain should be more "dirty".

I started with the Dark Elves last night. Seems they're in quite a (bad) spot as well. The starting island will only hold about 2 cities. You'll have to sail west to the mainland rather quickly, otherwise the land will already be occupied by other nations.

Going east across the land bridge is pointless because of all the tundra. If you go south from there, it's already Chaos territory. Going further south is blockaded by mountains. Even if you were to get past the mountains, it's the Clash Of The Four Nations™ territory that I described earlier with Nippon.

Maybe you should add the option to choose your rivals?

Hi all,

I created a map to play with all WH - Races. It's a bit similar to the WHMod 1.0 Map, but I like my map more ;)

1. Update : 14.03.05
