Hi, everybody. My name is atsival, and I think I'm a warmonger.... I usually play as the benevolent ruler, but this time I decided to try something different, by playing with the militaristic and industrious Chinese civilization. I am definitely more comfortable at playing the builder in Civ III, but, I must say that it is MUCH easier to win, at least on the regent level of difficulty, as a warmonger than it is as a builder. Normally, I try to expand, build the infrastructure, construct marvelous wonders and stress scientific progress, as well as ensure that other rogue leaders don't interfere with the building of my utopia. Don't get me wrong, once any infidels step on the wrong side of the border, they are thoroughly disciplined. In fact, I think it's fun not knowing where the enemy will strike from, but once the enemy does strike, they will be repelled swiftly and convicingly because my border cities are very well-defended. I guess that you've figured out that my games usually last well into the industrial age, if not longer. Well, this time I did not initiate even one great wonder. The only one that I built, the Pyramids, was completed with the help of a great leader. The only improvement that I did build in my cities was the barracks. I can't believe the difference in gameplay. I did not even switch out of despotism. I built 8 archers and a couple of spearmen after building the barracks in my capital, and went hunting for my enemies. City after city fell to the arrows that I fired and, later, to the swords that I slashed with. I know that it's a very modest score, but it is my highest and quickest ever: 5151 on regent. My game came to an early end when the world was busy celebrating the birth of Christ. I think I have an identity crisis. I am very, very confused with what lurks beneath my benevolent exterior....
