Warmongers' Anonymous........

Well, I am still emerging from denial (Ghandi had it coming, I SWEAR!) but here's my attempt at coming out of the shell:

I am Mr. Cackle and I am a warmonger. I have an addiction to a picture-perfect empire, in other words one that has no land borders with other nations. Unfortunately, this can have some nasty consequences if I play a Pangea map. I love forced labor, and squelch any opposition with my armies. Sometimes I like to raze cities, have the workers from that city join another city, then starve that city. I find it amusing. I see things only i black & white, you're either gracious or you're dead. Sometimes after the beating I inflict on them they are gracious that they ARE dead. Well, just got into the Industrial Age as Germany, time to go a blitzin!

My name is Atotarho and I am a warmonger.

My first units are archers and when I have enough of them I send them to the four corners of the world in search of intelligent life. When I find it a trample it, ransack it and enslave until it is no more. My civilization grows on the blodied bodies of my fallen enemies. I have never been a builder/diplomat and the thought sends shudders of revoltion through my body.

I am Atotarho scourger of lands, bringer of destruction, my army is my voice and my word is DEATH.

hello my name is japanrocks12. I am a warmonger, and always was. There's nothing better than watching foreign countries being nuked

I'll have to join this warmongering crew, only got 1300 points for a win on Monarch  :aargh:

I would gladly trade my win on regent for a win on Monarch! My game was on a tiny map (panagea) with 2 other civilizations and accelerated production on, that's why it was a quick game. I had a personal score to settle with the Russians and Ottomans. Revenge was swift, sweet and satisfying. I tried to play peacefully in our previous game, but they kept stepping onto my sacred lands with their filthy paws and demanding tribute from me like I was their lowly vassal.

Hmmm, when I see foreign countries nuked by another country...I am terrified that they use it against me as well. When you're talking about you being far ahead in tech and the rest without nuke-knowledge... then I understand.

the best way to be a builder is ..ironically-to war monger- u get great leaders/workers which can build key structures that in turn (lets say the hoover damn) allow u to build more-also increases territory and ability to produce science-which allows for new buildings again-the greatest builder will be he that wars at the right time and often-monarch and above

Hello my name is SuperBeaverInc., SuBI for short

When I first bought this game I was afraid of the AI on Cheiftain, until I became a war-mongerer. It just becomes so addictive and I just can't help myself. Now all my games involve declaring war on weaker smaller civs on my borders.

@zurichuk-You definetely should give war-mongerering a try. Land=Score. Thats how I got my Regent 5698 Domination :D

It gets better. If a civ that I conquered really ticked me off, then I nuke the cities that they formerly controlled( now controlled by me)

Warmongering is a way of life for me, It's usefull for building your cities, expanding your empire and taking what you need to survive the game. Force is the answer to all questions in the game.

Mind your time though, and use it well. Strike at your enemies when they least expect and strike quickly is my motto.

Hello, my name is Arathorn, and I would like to welcome all of you to WA. This fine organization has been in existence for many years. I am glad so many of you are signing up.

I became a true warmonger in my first emperor game, as the Persians. Immortals and oscillating war. Sigh. The memories. It only grew as I grew into deity and fought Greece, America, and Egypt with jags. War, war, war, it never ceased.

I didn't really know I was ill, though, until I started the Always War concept -- where you're always at war with everybody. What a war-mongering rush. Relentless, continual war until all are ground underfoot -- the way a game should be.

But I also bring you a message of hope. You can continue to build. There are ways to grow past all warmongering, or, more likely, to build your warmongering to never-before-seen crescendos. Seeing your 20-hp mech infantry armies drop like flies to a ravaging opponent and holding on for dear life -- that is the ultimate in warmongering experience.

Go, warmonger, but continue to build. Economy can drive the warmongering machine.

And when you want a nice relaxing quick game of Civ3, try a One-City Challenge (OCC) Always War (AW) Infantry variant -- but make sure you start on a pangea. The AI will fear your immortal wrath!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is Moff Jerjerrod. I am a warmonger. While I lust after early and middle game wars I live for the end game. This is where I go on a nuclear killing spree without pity. Most of the time the game is over at this point not because I won but because the world is plunged into nuclear annihilation. To me that is being victorious.

:Sits down and waits for counseling: :D

:stands:

I always thought I was different. Not wanting to give anything to other civs and only taking what I wanted, when I wanted it. See you all here today makes me what to come clean and admit to the world.

I am a warmonger and I am proud of it

I owe my addition to the lowly Babylonians who have always plagued me. They taught me that no matter how strong or weak you are, you can always get strong through military conquest.

 Heres to you Han. May your bones turn to dust under the treads of my tanks.

ps: Japanrocks21: You sig line reminds me of one of my old stat professor. He was never one on graphs and anytime a problem in our textbooks told us to graph the results of a problem, he said to take that phrase out and insert "go have a beer".

I was about to ask that. :(

Hi, my name is Tom and i'm an unrepentant warmonger.

I guess I played so many civ3 games that building another good civ became boring, without the spice and risks of warfare. It does keep the game exciting, because i'm always either preparing for the next war, researching better fighting units, deciding who's the next target, etc. And when an AI civ does surprise-attack me, that can be the most fun of all... scrambling to meet and blunt their attacks, leading them into ambushes, and then gaining the upper hand and taking their cities, oh what a feeling.... :D

Superevie and others, you may remember me from the beta, i was often arguing to keep the game safe for warmongers... :) . . :( Sigh... we lost a couple of the battles; i probly can't say any more because of the NDA; but don't expect to rush as many wonders...

But there are some cool new things (in Conquests) that enhance the warmongering experience. I'm now addicted to UUs with Enslave ability! :) How cool is this - You not only can get promotions from bashing your neighbors, but free slaves as well! Woo-hoo! :D :goodjob: I've always needed lots of workers, to improve everything and build roads to the next luxury (why trade when you can own?) and to the next new province :egypt: and now i'm swimming in workers...

[stand]Hi,

my nickname used to be Lt. 'Killer' M. - and that's how I behaved! Imagine a nice, firnedly civlization that just gave me their very davanced knwoledge of pots for only my backwards knowlegde of writing, polytheism and iron working - and already my anger boilder and I started to kill their units, raze their cities, rape their chicken and kill theri women... where was I know.. oh, yeah, razing cities... I even used such underhanded tricks like ROP rape!!!!!

well, one day I realized that my good old build character had totally transformed itself - I am a warmonger[/stand]

And I am DAMN PROUD of it!!!!!

Hi, My name is Larry, and I am a warmongerer.

I used to go about building all the wonders, and paying out all the tribute to "The Big Boys". Eventually going for diplomatic wins cause I was too bored to play on, but then I saw the light.
I had a look at the Civfanatics HOF, and then had a look at mine.
All of my scores evened out at around 5700, and people on the HOF were getting in the 20 - 30 - 40 k range. I knew I had to change.
I began to ignore the building of wonders, and concentrate on building barracks instead. When tribute was demanded, I would say "Hell No!" :D Also I started to notice a strange liking for chickens... My efforts payed off and I got a Domination victory score of 8400 or something. I would go on to get scores of 14k and above :) Thanks for listening.

*Sits Down*

(btw, my name's not larry)

Hello my name is Andy and I have seen the error of my ways, I am now a warmongerer but I had to drop a level to practice it, not sure if my 'random civ' was the best choice but they ripped through the opposition in no time, generating leaders, enemies and admirers

on edit, i would love to see printscreen of other peoples hall of fame just to see the typical scores and winning/ losing methods, I wonder if there would be a call for this type of thread

I hate to break into this party, but does anyone know what a warmonger is? Its a portamanteau word, made up of two words, war and monger. War is pretty simple to define, armed conflict. Monger means merchant, seller of , as in ironmonger. So unless you sell war, you aren't a warmonger. Do you get other nations to attack each other? Then you are a warmonger. If you just fight yourself, then you may be a warrior, but you have to get others into war, sell them on being at war, to be a true warmonger. If you don't get others, like your allies to attack sitll other nations, then you don't really qualify.

If you disagree, what is your definition of warmonger.

/rises from seat in the middle/

hi im patronr and im a newly formed warmonger. i used to play whole games without going into a single war. thats right a single one. i gave in to the AI's every demand for fear of not getting their vote in the UN. but not anymore. after playing a couple multiplayer games and taking the othert guys out with archers and spearmwn, well it felt good to win so fast. i didnt have to sweat votes or rep hits. i didnt have to build 404820 (exxageration) improvements in my cities to have good culture. istarted winning and fast. and i havent looked back since.

Now you're talking! Stir up the love. Catherine, do you remember your outrageous demand for spices and gold sometime ago? That's funny because I do, and so do Abe, Liz, Monte, Shaka, Joannie, etc..... ;)
