Waterfall

yes, no doubt the colors will need to be adjusted for any other MOD because I have changed ALL Graphics in my Game over 2 and 1/2 years. My Mountain snow files would not help for the same reason but it shouldn't be a problem to change the colors to go with any MOD...that is how I adjusted it for my game and thought you could adjust it for your MOD. What MOD would you like it to go with...SnOOpy's I assume ?

Pounder...I changed the WaterFall colors...see if this works for you. Here is the preview and I will post the Zip of the entire file for Mountains-snow that I adapted from some old files. Not certain that it is SnOOpy's exact Original but hope it will work for you.

here is the Mountains-snow zip with the waterFall. Use as you like :) The WaterFall colors are from your Mountain Rivers so it should be in keeping with Your rivers.

Nice Waterfalls. You can actually see these in the game.

I'm not sure what happened here, but I downloaded Vuldacon's version and apparently the pallette isnt working- I'm seeing the green and pink background behind it in-game. Does anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: I downloaded the zip from Vuldacon's post and it worked fine. :crazyeye:

@Vuldacon: Those mountains look like the original graphics- I used them Snoopy's 4.5 regular mountains, and his are more gray and textured.

Note the File Name...Pounder wrote to Change the File name for my version and explained why he renamed it to avoid two files with the same name...that was probably what caused your original problem. As for Snoopy's Terrain, as I said, I do not have Snoopy's Terrain because I have Modified all Game Graphics so I used an Old File that appeared to be Snoopy's or closer to what Pounder's preview showed. IF the Colors are not correct, just edit the palette and change them to what ever you like.

Bjornlo requested a Rhye's version of a Waterfall. It is a little different than the Snoopy version because of course the mountains are different.

Can be used as is (shows up in a couple places on the world map) or renamed LMmountains and used as landmark.

This is my first attempt.

Brilliant! Thank you so much.

I'm glad you did this, Pounder. I use Rhye's terrain and really liked your waterfall; now I can have both in the same game!

I put the water falles in the Art\Terrain files where they belong, i have Civ3 v1.22 Conquest, but for some reason the waterfalls never even show up. I am useing snoopy's terrain and not sure why it ain't showing up.

bloodofages, Did you place the WaterFalls in by using the "Mountains-snow.pcx" ? This is the File that has the Waterfall...Not the "Waterfalls.pcx" File located in the same Terrain Folder. The the waterfalls will show up on those particular Mountains without Overwhelming the map with them.

Edit Feb 13/05: Added version for Rhye's Terrain, preview and download on post #29.

Original Post
There is a waterfall file, but it doesn't seem to have been implemented.

What I have done is added a waterfall that dumps ino a lake. The reason it dumps into a lake is so if there is no river connecting to it, at least it looks like the water has a destination.

I only did this to one of the snow capped mountains, this leaves it relatively random as there are 16 snow capped mountain and 16 regular mountains, so it is 1 out of 32 mountains in a regular game.

I have had to change the mtnrivers file as well to accommodate the change on the mountain file. The reason is the had a piece of the river go up the mountain rather than use the waterfall file.

I figure that maybe this could be cut and pasted as landmark terrain in a scenario.

You know elves sometimes enjoy a waterfall. ;)

Edit: Vuldacon has made an alternate waterfall, it is also downloadable from post #3, don't forget to also load the mtnrivers file as it has been edited to work with both waterfalls (waterfall is in the Mountains-snow file).

Looks good, adding it to my index for future reference.
