.wav file sizes

Does anyone know if there is a limit of the size of a .wav audio file within Civ2 MPG ? I have created a .wav file, with the correct Hz specs, mono etc.) but it doesn't play. It is 39 secs. long. Just wondered if there a limit that one can't exceed for playback.

I modified the events.txt file by copying over the play "theme1.wa"v script that's in the ZWK scenario events.txt, and simply named my new .wav file theme1.wav too - but Civ2 doesn't seem to want to play it.

BTW, I trying this modification within Kobayashi's ST Battle for the Alpha Quadrant scenario.

Any ideas ?
 
You are using the mac version right?
Well the play wav file is a little strange in when it comes to our game, change the filename in the events.txt to .aiff (which you must have done annyway whit the file when you converted it to aiff, which you did right?
Mac civ uses aiff instead of wav.) if the name in the events is .wav the game will sometimes play it and sometimes keep quite
 
Glad to here that my event files are actually becoming templates for other designers.

I have a related question. I can't get a wav file to play (on windows version)using the scenario-loaded event even though the script is exactly the same as all my previous scenarios. The same wav plays fine when using a turn=1 event. Anybody knows why?
 
The SCENARIOLOADED trigger only works with two actions.
~ PlayCdTrack
~ DontPlayWonders
Any other actions are ignored.

Well, I've now got it to work (on a Mac - MPGE) - made the WAV an AIFF file and now it loads fine, using the "scenarioload/playwavefile" command in the events.txt file.

One key thing is that you have to restart the sceanrio once you've got the AIFF file and modified the events.txt file, and not try to load these changes for a game in progress.

Now it plays every time you load or reload a game in progress (it's actually the Star Trek Theme from the First Contact movie - about 35 secs; if anyone wants a copy of this let me know - Kobayashi ?? -> great scenario btw - just taken Bolia, but a Borg Cube appraoches my colony on Polaris - yikes !!
