Stealth is a very lategame tech that isn't required for a Space Race victory, although AIs like going for it anyway. I'm sure at least one AI has lost a match because their spaceship was delayed by them needlessly researching Stealth instead of an actually required tech.

My prediction is Darius wins space, because he is by far the best techer in this game. But he delays his win with stealth because he's an AI and that's how they roll. Also as soon as the ship takes off he starts a late game war because that's also how they roll.
