Weird Text

When I play CV on my HP Pavilion dv6920la Notebook PC running Windows 7, the text seems to be greatly mangled. All text is a combination of all the languages overlapping, so I can't read anything, save for a few words. I checked my written language and it said it was in English, but wouldn't let me change it. Does anyone know the problem?

Your graphics card is a crappy integrated intel GMA 3100...that's miles under the minimum requirements, and certainly the cause of the problems.
Only solution: New computer .

Ach! My other computer on which this game displays everything fine, can't handle memory. It tells me that it tried to access memory at (numbers) and (numbers). Basically, the game crashes when I get this, but this isn't unique to CV, it's also happened for user-made mods on CIV and on another game called Uprising 2

Then your hard drive is just too old and/or damaged.
Hit Ctrl+R, type in cmd, hit enter, type in there chkdsk c:/f (if c is your hard drive), let that run (will need a computer restart), and then reinstall Civ5 again.
