Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

I've been urged a couple of times to "Just go close the current gauntlets and set the next ones up." There is an administrative thread with instructions, but (as you guys know) I've never done this before, and the only "pro" that is available to hold my hand is 15 times zones out of sync with me, so it s hard to get together for question/answer chats.
I am about to close and update the current gauntlets, and then post new ones. I am paranoid about doing something silly, dumb, or just plain stupid. But, DANG, I want this to move forward as much as the rest of you all, so here goes...
