WH Discussion Thread

I doesn`t even have to be included in the mod, it can be offered as an optional DL... But it would be nice if we could all work together (cos you know you want it :mischief:)

And of course they work better as they are compared to the alternative at present, cos there is no alternative! We are however trying to make one.

That's well and good, but has nothing to with a) whether a balanced unit line could be created or b) if you would be interested in including them if a balanced unit line were concocted. You say you think they work better as they are - but better than what? You have nothing to compare it to at the moment. This thread was started so people could work on developing ideas they liked without you telling them 'don't bother, I won't put it in.' Kindly keep the naysaying at the official thread, where it belongs. :D...
Stormrage asked for my opinion. In this thread, btw. If you don't want me stating my opinion in this thread just put me on ignore.

It's got everything to do with b), seeing as it's a direct answer to that. Ah, but then you're not interested in my opinion, right.

K, guys, I`m working on a BP civ, all is good so far, I just need some opinions and thoughts.

a) I`m using CamJH`s Kandori for infantry, and I gave it a very "creative" name Sabre. Yay. Does anyone have a good name for it? BTW, I`m using Borderguard for the Pikeman, and Borderguard Knight for the Knight. However, plese do not suggest Borderguard Footman or Infantry, etc. cos I don`t like it :)

b) I`m using Utahjazz7`s Territorial Cavalry for the BP UU, 2nd age unit, at strategy, doesn`t require iron (this could change). Its currently named "Border Patrol". Feedback?

c)Any ideas about a DoW, Nature Lore or Creature Control units? These are not neccesary, but I could add them if anyone has some ideas. I don`t.
I would like to throw in the Rome Total War "Rottweiler" war hound, tho, if Gaias ever converts it :)

d)the civ could be named "Border Alliance"? Represented by a general of somesort - Rob`s Justinian?

e)What dragon should it use? I`m currently going with Green, cos, like, everyone has the Red one.

f)Civ color. Pink. Problem. Solution! I gave one of the left-over pink colors to the Lustria`s Secret Catalogue civ, "islamised" Araby with the Amazon Green, and gave former arabic Lemonade to the BP. What do you think?

g) Traits?

Digg in fellow modders, there`s enough for everybody! ;)

How about Grandraem's golden colour variants? I believe he made both sizes.

If I remember correctly I played against a high elf army with a gold dragon, but then again he might have just thought they looked cool....
...also I like your ideas for the BP stormy, although I think that tilea and them should be more reliant on DoW but I am not sure how you could acheave(sp) thet....

Are there golden dragons in WH? :hmm:
Nah, only in fan material AFAIK. But I believe I've seen references to a sand drake or a earth dragon in adventures, e.g. Empire in Flames(?)

I`m not sure the golden dragon is appropraite for such a civ, its an uneasy alliance of small kingdoms that are not of the most noble kind ;)

I`ll think about those DoW, maybe they can have the same Mercenary Tilea does? But Tilea has lotsa money to afford them..

Oooh! And civ traits, what should they be? They are not expansionist, commercial, agricultural, scientific, industrious or seafaring, so they should be militaristic and religious (old crusaders)? Or just 1 trait! Militaristic. To cripple them a bit, cos they are an unofficial civ?

Eastern civs could use that golden dragon, no? Cathay, Ind and Nippon :)

Edit: hokay, how bout this - the pikeman is called "pikeman", Borderguard knight becomes "heavy cavalry" (Again, not very knightly countries) and the Infantry is called Borderguard. What do you think? Also, the Border Patrol unit could be renamed to Horse Archer (:crazyeye:). What do you think?

The Border Princes are east of Tilea, south of the Empire, just before the Bad Lands begin. I dunno what GW has to say about it, but I found some great fan-made fluff. Basicly its a bunch of small duchys and princedoms founded by the old Bretonnian crusaders, some native countries too, and of course Dolgania, something like our Hungary. Some Dolgans migrated there centuries ago, settled, mixed with the locals, and became Dolganians. I will have some nice pedia entries for those interested.

I have to think about that Chaos Dragon, it looks too "funny old movies"-ish :)

i dont know about ghidorah being a choas dragon hes not even flying

and why in the world isnt the Territorial Cavalry being used as the kesliv horse archer?

Jesus! This is so freakky! Bigdog, you are asking exactly the same questions as I did when I first barged in, not knowing anything about WH like you do now. Dude, I got goose bumps! :crazyeye:

The thing is, TC looks to civilised for a Kislevite horse archer, this is from Games Workshop:

"They delight in running rings around their opponents, peppering them with arrows and dodging away before the enemy can retaliate. They wear little or no armour ..."
