Is the armored arms thing doable?

To those that haven`t seen the unedited versions of posts #81 and #82 - it says President of the Galaxy instead of J.B. And yeah, I know you still don`t get it :p
 
Ok, Kurgan/Hung variant discussion:

I've mechanically made the following changes in the initial concept. I'm going to test these and see how they work out:


Kurgan:

Added all beastmen units aside from minotaur.
Changed initial government to chaos.
Added chaos warrior and chaos knight.
Added ungol soldier (renamed to marauder soldier).
Added lesser daemons.


Hung:

Kossar archer changed to dark elf archer (hung historically allied with dark elves)
Added all beastment units aside from minotaur.
Changed initial government to chaos.
Added chaos warrior.
Added lesser daemons.


I still think even with these additions they are less strong than chaos proper, so I think it's fairly balanced. From this starting point I plan to make cosmetic changes and maybe a few more unit additions.
 
If that ungol soldier fits in chaos, something went terribly wrong with chaos these days :)

My ideas for your Kurgan -
For beastmen - only ungors and bestigors
No lesser daemons
No ungol soldier! God, no, please! :) Its better to nag someone into turning that buffalo soldier into a chaos pikeman, until they actually do it :)

Hung-
I like the DE archer idea
Beastmen - same as I said for Kurgan
Lesser Daemons.. again.. no.. I was thinking of making the current Chaos civ the Daemon version.

One other thing... I would really like if we didn`t change the Ungols into Hung, but rather added a new Hung civ, next to renaming Dolgans into Kurgan.

I know this were your initial ideas, and that you aren`t really set on them yet, so I hope there is room for my suggestions.

Also, what do you think of my idea of a recolored Uruk-hai (armored one) for the new chaos civs infantry? He armor is weird enough to pass for Chaos, he only needs to be recolored on the small bits, where his skin shows up.
 
oh, well yeah different graphic for that of course, I was going to use Dom Pedro's Hun unit for it. It may not fit too well with the kurgan though.

Also as far as lesser daemons go, they need some demonic element, I'm going to add another demon unit to chaos earlier in the game so it would be one demon unit for the marauder tribes vs 5 for chaos itself.

In regards to hung vs ungol, if someone wants to add in a new civ for them that's fine but it's an order of magnitude more involved than just changing an existing one, so I'm going to go with just hung for right now. There are already I think 2 or 3 ungol units in the kislev list - kossar, horse archers, etc.
 
Umm...5 demon units in chaos? How come 5? Even if you include one more, thats still only 3... the Lesser, the Greater and that one you include. Which would be the one I suggested in my post with lotsa pictures, right?

Yeah, DP`s Hun is awesome. What about that one form R8XFT? For the swordsman?

And you are right, try to redo the Ungols just to see what the Hung would work is alot easier than creating a new civ. And then, if they work fine, maybe you can make them a new civ, so we don`t loos the current Ungols.
 
I can think of five daemon units that could be used:

The Lesser Daemon using the Deathclaw graphics
The Lesser Daemon of Khorne (Bloodletter) using these graphics from the WH 40K pack
The Great Unclean One by aaglo
The Greater Daemon using the Balrog graphics

And the new kids on the block in the WH Mod thread are making a Chaos Spawn, which is kinda daemon-like

In my opinion, I think the basic lesser daemon should be able to be built by all chaos tribes, but the more advanced only being built by chaos and/or unit-producing wonders
 
LR, adding the Bloodletter would also be changing the Chaos civ... So this expands further than just Hung and Dolgans... We really need Gomurr`s (r.i.p.) input on this.. I`m still waiting on that List of changes from him...

But I like what you are saying, now they kinda have 3 daemons (even though I think the unclean one is just a monster), if the chaos spawn is any good, I`m sure they`ll include it, but my Bloodletter suggestion (i did it 3 times!) needs support! No one commented on it in the thread, it just sits there!

LR, another request (:blush:) - the chaos dragon. Can you C`n`P another head on the Kinboat`s one?

flesh hounds are technically daemonic units, too ;)

lesser daemons of khorne would be wonder-produced, like who ever builds the "Temple of Khorne" has a Bloodletter produced every twelve turns or so. the bloodletters would be powerful, but the wonder's effects could be rendered obsolete shortly afterwards so you would have twenty or so bloodletters and that's it.

or they could just continue to be produced at a slower rate, i dunno

I like to manage the unit production, the only personal modding thing I dared to do to the WH mod so far was to turn of the unit production for the Wizzard` guilds, cause those damn spells kept pilling up, and I could build stronger ones myself, and I`m not an artillery type of guy.. They really used to make me freak out so much that I would have to slaughter 2-3 neighbouring civs, just to let off some steam.
 
The Uruk-hai! It`s a great unit, but his skin is too dark to be used for humans, `cept for the africans and such. I was thinking if you could recolor him a bit (i think only his legs are nekkid actually). And maybe, just maybe somehow C`n`P the Chaos amblem on his shield, instead of the white hand of Saruman, and voila, a new chaos infantry unit, for the Kurgans and the Hung.

Also, I`m thinking about requesting someone makes those beastmen units with Kinboats models. Like that Rat-man I showed you. I think there is some Beasts of chaos material there, also there are cat-heads, so we would finaly have the Khajiit race (cat-people, only one`s missing) and then the Elder Scrolls Mod can finaly be made! Plus, there is a wolf head, so voila, the werewolf, I bet it could find its place in a few mods, not to forget the bear head which would be an even better version for the Bearmen of Urslo!
Anyway, would you have use of the Rat-man if it was made? Isn`t that model just awesome? Think of the possiblities, man! Think, for Sigmar`s sake! Think! I can`t! Imagination overload......I need to get my medication..
 
Yeah, I was planning on adding bloodletters to chaos, as something like 10/5/1 availible with some early magic tech in 3rd age or perhaps chaos incursion.

The fleshhounds also of course count, and chaos spawn would also count. Also I'm leaving the entirety of the chaos incursion tech to chaos as well as chaos gates. Don't worry about chaos not having enough unique stuff. This was one justification behind giving the others the upper end beastmen units, I though with bloodletters and maybe chaos spawn that chaos would be pretty well fleshed out.

As a placeholder I thought of using kinboats beholder as Chaos spawn until a new graphic could be produced. I think they should be small wonder-produced though and on a slow timer.
