PS - I`ll give special attention to finding places for the units LMR suggested plus I`d like to add the jungle swarm to the list :D
 
aaglo, your excel file lists the chaos spawn as an advanced defender, and we've said that we need that. ;)

I still have severe doubts that the AI would not build those demon spawn wonders over and over again, just replacing the other ones in a loop. Or, LMR, did you test this?
And does it even work? Those replace-flags doesn't always work, IIRC.
And, these temples would be available to BoC too. I don't say that's too bad, but just so you know.
However, a new great wonder that spawns a daemon every nth turn could be quite fun too, especially if you have both HoC and BoC in the game. :) We could give them a tech that leads off from Black Arts.

I agree with Stormrage, that some new trolls would be nice. :)
Did anyone say Cold One Chariot already? ;) 6-3-2 +2 HP?

I haven't tested it, but would you be able to replace wonders?

how about having the temples like the Knightly Orders for the Old Worlders? the only problem with this is while there are five races that can build the Knightly Orders (i think...) there will only be two capable of building the Chaos Temples, unless the Chaos Dwarves and possibly Norsca are included

of course, since the daemons (especially the Greater Daemons) will be crazy strong, they should be spawned sparingly and the temples should cost a bundle to build too.

i would love to see a chaos spawn, and a Cold One Chariot :D
 
Well, what I meant was to ditch the "replace" idea, and just add a new wonder.

I don't see it as a much bigger problem than the Knightly Orders, as you (well, I at least) usually don't play with all those nations. But sure, it should be expensive, and spawn the daemon quite seldom (32 turns? same as armies?).

If those temples are improvements I fear that they would tie up all chaotic production.
 
I haven't played the epic game (or even my version of it) until the modern era for a year at least. So I don't know. ;)
And, as I said, I think there's problems with those flags.
 
where are all these new units going to go?

skull chucker - siegecraft i guess
dwarf quarreler - they are crossbow dwarfs, right? Invention?
goblin doom diver - invention again?
dark-elf harpy - aerial combat
chaos fury - aerial combat
carrion - aerial combat again
cold-one chariot - mil. training and move dark rider to riding?
hellblaster volley gun - probably won't be included, ay?
 
I would like to report a Gomurr sighting :) he was only on for a couple of minutes, but that was enough for me to take some recon pics...

About the chaos spawn - I think that the lesser daemon we're usign currently in the mod looks quite a bit like the chaos spawn (actually, to me the chaos spawn looks nothing but a lump of flesh & spikes - not really interesting to look at).

Those trolls have been requested like 10 times. And I've refused all of them. Do you feel lucky this time, punk? ;)

I think it would be easiest if we'd just skip the Daemon-temple idea. Just give them some daemon producing wonder or something, if necessary (we have two great daemons in the mod, make the other spawned from wonder, and keep the other buildable).
 
Hello all!

I've had a quick chat to mrtn about the progress, it all looks pretty good so far.

It's good to see more units on the way aaglo, though it's a shame the two remaining Greater Daemons won't get made. A recolour of the Vermin Lord might work, but how can you resist making this baby? ;) And would the Lord of Change be so bad? You could have it in lots of robes, and just use a colourful fire spell than anything too intricate for the attack... but anyway, that's not so important. The units I'd particularly like to see are:

Dwarf Quarreler
Dark Elf Crossbowman (Both should come at archery- these older races are superior to regular mortals!)
Cold One Chariot
Harpy/ Fury (They could both use the same graphic easily enough)
Carrion
Chaos Hound (If it's not already made)
And if Ghouls are going to be Barbarians, they could use their own graphics...

About that keeper of secrets and my ability to resist making it? Well, for starters, she has way too many tentacles and way too many breasts :).
And your suggestion on the lor of change just gets worse than it already is :lol: - robes are by far the most difficult thing to do properly with pov-ray (IMO).

Well the tech "invention" is called "invention", not "crossbows" or "machinery", there's no reason to insist that ALL crossbows have to appear at that stage (whereas you would have to insist that blackpowder weaponry comes after gunpowder's discovery). After all, larger versions of crossbows can be built well before the third age (Ballistae, bolt throwers etc.), and they're just to fluff it out a bit.

Didn't know that robes were difficult to make! Just stick to feathers then :p And "way too many breasts" is a bad thing now? Heresy, to the dungeons with ye!

Well at the very least I'd expect different colours (e.g. harpies grey, furies red). I preferred the old harpies (that looked like this) anyway.

That old harpy body looks a bit like chaos fury body (what i've seen - and that isn't much). I guess the main thing for both is, that they could attack with their claws - and they both have wings on their backs :)
