What are your thoughts on BitCoin?

I have no idea what's propping up this currency. I thought the fed would regulate it a long time ago, because it's illicit currency with no means of taxation, like what they did with internet gambling. I guess I missed the boat over the last few months, but I still feel it's a really bad idea.

Old article here I quickly grabbed off Google. The atms have actually been live since late October, with more locations each month.

So wait. To be able to live in Canada using Bitcoins I would need to:
(1) purchase Bitcoins (using Canadian dollars because who else is going to be living in Canada)
(2) go to this one ATM
(3) and then change my Bitcoins back into Canadian dollars?
(Even assuming that I wasn't a Canadian, why wouldn't I have just purchase Canadian dollars at an exchange or used transferred the money using a bank?)

You can buy your own atm from Robocoin in Nevada for about $20k usd plus fees.

Are you trolling me? How could you have bitcoins and not know how to exchange them? That atm is probably the most expensive, least efficient transaction method. It's a matter of convenience. If you had your own, though, I imagine you could put whatever currency you wanted in it.
