What Civ do you play???

Well, as a Promethean Gnostic with a bit a Druidism, I tend to play anyone except the Purple People Eaters If I am feeling really annoyed with the world, I pick the Mongols, World Map Small, Chieftain Level, pick my Computer Opponents (whom I cluster in Europe), and then like the Devil's Horseman I wipe out Western Civilization by 2500 B.C. (Fortunately, I only have these type of days every three or four months; who would have thunk that Civ 2 could be therapeutic.)

Sometimes I just play the Americans or the English.

But usually, I like to change the name to the Israelis. (I'm a somewhat non-observant Jew, so it makes me feel good.)

I'll play as the Germans, of course. Or else as the Americans, or a custom named civ played as a modification of the Americans.

I either choose the Americans or English...

The Amaricans are near useless AI's, there are so many games that I have had where they dwindle with a handful of cities and eventually taken over so I may as well just be them so that my competitors are good )

The English on the other hand are always a force. They don't muck around, so I like to be them 'on the other hand' just because I like them so much.

I don't really play the other 'coloured' civs 'mebby coz I am white', not racist but I dont think I fancy myself as an Indian, Mongol or Zulu *hehe* and besides, they are all great competition.

I am never the russians because apart from being usless with techs, they are sure to give me a good beating (or try) throughout the game, they are just hellbent on mass destruction 'How Cute' ROFL <-- I think to myself sarcastically every time the rock up with another set of soon to be dead units )

As a third preferance, I like to be the Vikings, just because I think the helmets with horns is pretty kewl *hehe* and I like the scandanavians in real life )

The vast majority of the time I create a custom civ name and titles.

Usually they are "The Eldar" ... a race of noble humans, and all the other civs are jealous of their greatness, but unwilling to accept the responsibilities of attaining that nobility for themselves... and so they pit themselves against the wise and noble Eldar.

Ok... that was a little cheesy, but its my escape...

Hey hey, Dwarven_Megalomaniac!!!

The Eldar are a highly advanced race of psychers!!! Haven't you ever played Warhammer 40K or Epic 40.000????
They rely on speed and high tech and they kick *** in both games.

Then again, if you play D&D then the Eldar are the ancestors of the Elves!!!

The Greeks, because I am one(For Real), and the Light blue civs, because I like the color. Never the Yellow civs, and rarely the White ones.

I usually play as the Americans so the cities are familiar to me and I can remember thier locations easier.

Further, when the computer runs out of actual American city names, I can substitue with one that I can associate with.

I guess the only downside of always being the Americans is that I never get a chance to play against the other light blue civs. What is this color like as an AI?

Diplomacy - the art of

the greeks (cause the city names are cool)
the romans (out of respct for their imense empire & the are diffclt to deal with as an ai playr)
the aztecs (the lack of repct the world shows them even though they were the american equilvalnt to the romans)

You could have substituted the "v" in abrevviations, to make another "b" and make "abbreviations" and you would still end up with 87 characters (including spaces).

I like playing the Russians on the World map because they have so much more open territory, but the Celts are great for any game.
