Yes, I bought the system on the day it came out. Like probably 90% of Wii owners, I purchased Zelda along with the console, and of course it came packaged with Wii Sports as well. Interestingly enough, I've probably spent more time playing Wii Sports than Zelda so far; not because Zelda is a bad game, but because I can pick up Wii Tennis and play for 5-10 minutes, which I can't really do with Zelda.
As far as evaulating the games... Wii Sports is a great party game, but it doesn't have a whole lot of depth. I had pretty low expectations for it, however, and it's actually better than I expected it to be. Some of the minigames in Wii Sports are really fun (the bowling one where you have to knock down 91 pins is a hoot!) Zelda is... well, Zelda, only with motion-sensing controls. And I mean that in a good way; Twilight Princess is a really fantastic game, with the new controller adding to the experience. My biggest complaint would be that the game is on the easy side; I would have liked to see an additional (harder) difficulty level as an option.
I have not experienced any problems, certainly nothing like the flying Wiimote of Internet lore. Is it worth the hype? For now, yes, but it's less certain that a steady stream of good games will follow up the strong start. I hope Nintendo doesn't delay their upcoming big name games, but judging by past history, there's a good chance that will happen. We'll see. I'm also hoping that Nintendo improves the online capabilities of the Wii soon; I really want to be able to play Wii Sports against my friends online!
I didn't have to wait for the system, so I can't answer that question.
