i see many of you will watch the games progress.
but i only play mods and scenarios, there the waiting time i have is far greater (my slow old pc adds to this) therefor watching a static screen isn't fun
Sometimes I sit in awe and occasionaly even time the waits just to see just how short they really are compared to other horrendous accounts.
See I play anywhere from size 180x180 to 206x206 with no less then twenty Civs. Im quite amazed things ares so fast as they were noticly slower before I did a major overhaul for Civ4. I remember freeing up On board graphics card Vir mem allocation with a Radeon seemd dramitcly to ruduce turns. Later I played around with some other tricks I learned on tech forums on other sites.
I relish every turn now as from what I hear, Its really quite an acheivment to wait less then minute (excluding AI vs AI battle footage) all the way through an epic on True Empire Size Maps, especially when guys in Civ4 land would say they suffered 15 mintute or more interturns when playing Civ3. The poor ba$tard$
I also watch the AI move, and it never seems to take long at all. Like T.A. Jones, I upgraded my computer to be able to play Civ4, but I prefer C3C, so my machine is speedy. I never play C4 anymore.
Normally it dosn't take long but I play music when playing civ so I sing along.
"In the Empire days of old when they murderd for the gold and paraded around the streets of London, oh no human rights were given to the natives dead or living......."
I just sit in dispair, watching as my soul slowly bleeds away into the abyss.
No, really just joking, I 90% watch the AI, as it is easier to see where they landed to attack me rather than search for them later. Nothing nastier than 4 enemy cavs. outside the palace gate and nobody noticed.
"In the Empire days of old when they murderd for the gold and paraded around the streets of London, oh no human rights were given to the natives dead or living......."
"Just a wee Irish ditty......" Hey didn't Johhny McDermot sing that one above?. Classic!.
Hey be sure to check out the new CD. " Songs inspired da the Civ Series "due out this fall for your interturning listening enjoyment. Its got some great Celtic tracks like the one your singing
