What does "Referrals" mean?

In the member profile there is something called "Referrals: x" what does it mean/do?

I don't think it's supposed to work for us, but basically if you refer a new member to us you get a '+1' to your referrals.

This is the most confusing aspect of CFC. How do you get referrals to go towards you, becaus I have got someone to come here and yet I did not recieve a referral for that.

Is there a certain email or pre-defined document you need to send because I have a couple Civ-friends that have no life and... friends who have no life.
I also in real life introduced a dude here. I don't know if he signed up yet but he should...

That's how. I'm not sure where the referral link is, or where he dug that up from, but that's how you do it.

Look at it this way. You have a friend, Joe. Joe coincidently starts playing Civ. He's talking to you and says "Man, I found this great game, but I'm having problems with it. It's called Civ and..." You cut him off and say, "Hey, I play that game too! There's a great forum, the very very best on the net, that is dedicated to Civ! And there's an active OT forum as well. Here, use this link to sign up!"

So Joe gets on the net, and signs up to CFC using the above link. You referred him here, and by using the link above, you get credit for it.

Does that make more sense?
