what games do you reccomend

Civ 2 has a lot of spiffy Medieval/US Revolution/Civil War Scenarios, try purchasing it and downloading some of this site

Everquest on the PC has a couple of years' history.

For games recommendation, will suggest you check out the All Other Games subforum for ideas.

Medieval Total War is a lot of fun so is:
Sim City 4
Railrod Tycoon II - like said earlier
MOO3 comes out soon (Master of Orion 3)
