What Happen With Full Tech??

Recently I have made great games, (discovering all tech around the year 1950), but something happens with all my civ, the economy starts to fall down, highly decreases in produccion, and a lots of starvation, every city has all impovements and I dont know what happen!!!
can somebody explain me??

It probably has to do with something else, do you have your governors running citizen moods? are you in a war? what is your Gov?

Commerce and production dropping is probably from either war weariness, or if you are adding alot of cities, thus experiencing increase of corruption from going over the 'optimal # of cities'. Or if you suddenly lost access to some of your luxuries. Or if you switched to communism....

Starvation can be from the same causes as you wouldn't have as many citizens working the tiles (because they have to be entertainers and not bringing in food), or you simply are at the max population and now have more citizens than you have food for. Pollution can also deprive you of food, so make sure you clean it up ASAP.

If none of this is the problem, then perhaps post a saved game so we can take a look.

you probably are in anrachy/despotism. Press F1 and check!

If you are in anarchy, clcik on the message you get from the advisor (top right), this will cycle them throuhg and there will be one telling when it's over.
(should have things under control in x turns) it reads.

If you are in despotism, click the icon that says so and tell them to revolt....

Stupid question, but how does one determine the optimal number of cities? Editor?

Yes, in the editor under 'world sizes'. also you could look at Alexman's corruption study in the strategy articles forum titled "Do you think you understand corruption?"

I though optimal cities was a percentage, rather than an integer.

it is a fixed number for each map size

Optimal City Number is a fixed number for map sizes, which is then adjusted by a modifying % for selected difficulty level.

For example (using misremembered numbers! check the editor for correct numbers!) OCN on Standard is 16, and OCN on Monarch level is 85% -- so OCN on your Monarch level game on a standard map is 13.6 -- I think the OCN is always rounded down - in this case, OCN would be 13.

I have posted this theme, and i think I found the answer. Make peace... I´m in war with all civs, but when i make peace it´s going normal again

I think it mean some of your city were rioting because of war weariness, making peace bring back control over those city. Switch to commi or monarchy if you want too stay in war.
