Just back from 16 days in the South of France - nice and hot, with lots of friendly :mischief::cry: insects.

Last I saw was the leak on Venice and Shoshone, and the World Congress featurette.

Has anything else happened since??

Well, the leak was eventually real. India, Arabia, Polynesia, Carthage, Rome and a bunch more other civs are being changed as well. Multiplayer will support custom maps

Polynesia, Carthage and Rome have not been changed.

At the original poster, just read the "What we know" stickied thread.

Polynesia Carthage and Rome were indirectly mentioned as civs that haven't been changed. They only said that these civs have unforseen bonusses due to the new mechanics of the expansion.

unforseen bonuses sounds strangely weird... doesn't it?

Yeah, checking out What We Know thread is your best bet, there's also 3 new screenshots in the BNW Screenshot thread.

Well Polynesia gets the WC bonus because it can travel over oceans, but I think the 'unforeseen bonus' is due to hotels with their statue improvement giving culture which is turned into tourism, allowing Polynesia to be one of the few civs capable of really benefiting from wide cultural-victory wise.

Carthage maybe can do trade routes over mountains? This would be an unforeseen bonus, or else it refers to the free harbours - maybe these provide bonus to money from cargo ships.

Rome I'm not sure about, possibly good for a strategy where several cities boost productivity in the capital to build a building, then the trade routes swap direction and the capital helps the cities, allowing for an even faster boost to empire-wide infrastructure.

Well, unforseen bonuses could change how the civ is played. Take Polynesia for example. Right now, it's probably worth going for a domination victory or a cultural victory. But in BNW, it'll be very useful for a diplomatic victory.

Where are your sources for these? I know about India, France and Arabia from the official information topic, but Polynesia, Carthage and Rome aren't listed there.
