I think I have a rough idea of what it is...but I just don't see the point, won't you fall majorly behind?
On Prince and below, I find I can skip guilds completely and just head for cavalry. I can't do that on Monarch though.
In Civ terms, this means researching technologies that will get you to a specific goal in the fastest manner possible, without any distractions. For example, to beeline Liberalism you would research (or lightbulb) Philosophy, Paper, Education, then Liberalism, all in a row. (It's rarely that simple, but that's the jist of it.)bee·line (bē'līn')
n. A direct, straight course.
intr.v. bee·lined, bee·lin·ing, bee·lines
To move swiftly in a direct, straight course.
Beelining.
Personally, I always thought bees flew around erratically as if surprised they were able to fly at all.
If you beeline it means you get a good tech before most other AI's. (thats the plan at least)
So when you get it you can trade it to all the other AI's and get different techs from them. (more if it's very old ones) So most of the time you will research faster this way and not fall behind.
I skip Guilds at emperor, works fine for meDon't know about cavalry strategy though, i skip MT as well most of the time

that's when they look for food.
When they found it, they fly pretty straight.
For example, to beeline Liberalism you would research (or lightbulb) Philosophy, Paper, Education, then Liberalism, all in a row.
Thanks, Fold. Now, besides adjusting the sliders, trading, or earning a free tech, are there any other ways to accelerate research?
