What is "culturally linked starting positions"

its where civs of similar origin (i.e.building style, religion - basicaly culture) start close to each other in the game . For example: the romans and greeks will start close together as they have many culturally linked features (buildings, music, both mediterranean).
However The Aztecs and English are less likely to start next to each other (temples compared to churches, pyramids compared to castles....two very different civs!).

I don't like it. Every game seems to have the same civs. Asian civs all have a knight based UU. It gets very old.

Trust me, this feature is ok sometimes but I disable it for varieties sake.

It depends on who your cultural partners are. I don't want my neighbour always to be the Greeks for example because of their special unit.

but it can be a bit handy because if you find 1 civ you know pretty much who the rest of them will be

zulu are only something special right at the beggining. U can send out several Impis and these hardcore little buggers will trash everything! After that though they are pretty average.

Just think of them as Nubians.
