What... is our name?

Who are we? Where are we going? What is the meaning of it all?

Or more prozaic: by what name will our enemies call us to plea for their lives ?

Example sentence:
Title Leader of the Noun
The Adjective city of...

In diplo and on the victory screen we use our Formal name.

Suggestions I have seen sofar (I hope I don't miss any) were mostly on the council theme:

Leader: Consensus, or Councillor
Formal: The Council
Noun: Council
Adjective: Council
Title: Majority, Major, Mayor, Elder, or The

(I added a few there.)
And some other suggestions were:

Formal: Aquifer
Adjective: Well-run

I personally find the repetition of council in the first option a bit too much, but I would like to stick to a theme. If we can find a good adjective, I would be happy with:
Mayor Consensus of the Council, with as formal team name The Council.

What do you think?

I agree in full. We need a better adjective. Well-run is better than nothing, but I'm not fully satisfied with it. I noted that Team Gong used the word 'Entertaining' as their adjective, which I found really fun and innovative. What would suit our team style?

I'm still not sure I understand the context of each use in-game, but hopefully we've got it pretty good.

As for having Team name different from Civ name, I'm really against it. It adds many layers of nomenclature that are unnecessary, and, in the end, the other teams will refer to us by one name only. In the first game (that phrase is getting old quick!! ) MIA referred to KISS, DNUTs, and TNT. We never mentioned the Traditori, No-namers, Simpletons, etc.

If we could ensure that the other teams refer to us as "The Council", that will help with our psychological advantage.

I don't think we need to poll, but I wil if nothing has been decided in 24 hours.

I like groovy, shadowy, shady, intriguing or mysterious for adjective.
Majority Consensus sounds a bit strange - a consensus among the majority? I rather like Senior Advisor or Mayor Consensus.
I think the Leader (e.g. "Advisor") occasionally occurs without the Title (e.g. "Senior"), so it has to make sense as a stand alone.

My choices at the moment:
Mayor Consensus of the Council or
Senior Advisor of the Council

The groovy or shady or intriguing town of ...

I can live with Shadowy as well, but would rather have Shady, sounds more like something you'd say about a town. Otherwise Loquacious is a really cool suggestion, as is Intriguing.

Majority Consensus is actually an existing term, it means simply that a majority agrees with the proposal at hand. However, I'd go with Senior Advisor or Respected Elder.

For Title and Name I vote for First Chairman, in the other thread we seem to agree on calling the various roles 'Chairman of the .......' etc, First Chairman as leader sits well with this as it would kind of imply first amongst equals.
