What is your favorite board game?

two people's gotta be chess. More than two people I don't really have one. The game's not the point if you've got a group together . . .

Maybe I should also answer chess since I'm the secretary in a club with almost 100 members and on the board for the, I believe the English equivalent would be county-chess-association.

But my answer will be Axis and Allis. I'd like to get to actually play the game sometime but I don't know anyone around here that wants to play it. Also can't find anywhere online where you can play it with the exception of this one pay-site and unfortunately I'm not rich.

My favorite two person board game is Avalon Hill's Squad Leader (I don't know if they even make it anymore). More than two would have to be their Kingmaker game.

I used to play that with my brother. Haven't played in years though. The only thing I didn't like about it is those "powers" you could gamble for (forgive me, I can't remember what exactally they were called). My brother always seemed to win the "Heavy Bombers" power and would then systematically blast the bejezus out of my industrial complexes (hence economy). He was so luck that after a while i refused to play unless we forwent the "special techonology" (whatever it was called) stuff. Oh yeah, I remember the WORST one was "Super Subs", I always ended up with that.

AlCosta, I'm a big Monopoly fan too. I always hated as a kid when people would drop out of a game, just because they were losing. It's fun to play with folks who stay on and fight 'till the very end. :)

I'm not a huge fan of board games, but I do enjoy Risk, Monopoly, Cluedo, Chess etc.

Funniest moment came form a three-way game of Risk, where this exact conversation played out when we were trying to teach someone how to play.

Me: You could attack here and possibly break into my northern provinces.
Friend: That's a bit of a risk though.
Me:...well, that is the name of the game.
Friend: Ooooohhhhhhh.

It was funnier in person :p

Gangsta Monopoly.
