What is your favorite color combination from BNW? I would suggest not considering any (perceived) conflict with previous color schemes, and only evaluating the color combos on their own merits and your personal taste.
I think Portugal is my favorite. I like crisp, bold primary colors rather than shades and hues. Beyond that, I like Indonesia and Morocco because their color pairs look good together.
some people dislike it, but I like the Shoshone the best. I've always liked brown and turquoise together and I'm excited to see the map covered in those colors.
POLL ADDED. (Sorry about the delay, it took time to add the options and find decent color descriptors.
The Shoshone colors appear gunmetal and turquoise to me, so that is how I entered it in the poll, but maybe we need better stills to tell? I don't see it as brown.
Portugal's colors are lovely - I love that they actually went for Dark Blue on White, instead of any combination of Red and Green (thank you Ethiopia and Morocco for taking those choices away from Portugal!). Seriously, this is THE BEST choice they could have gone for Portugal, hands down!
Indonesia's colors intrigue me - I hate the Aztec's, yet Indonesia's seem so... relaxing, somehow... I like them a lot!
Assyria, Brazil, Poland, and The Zulus are ok - not special in anyway, they work, I have no strong feeling toward those. Kinda wish they would switch Austria's and Poland's, just so the eagles have the correct colors, but it works anyway.
I dislike Venice's colors because there is one much better option for them that was not used. Seriously, there is no reason to use Cream on Violet, SPECIALLY when they are using the Lion of St. Mark as their symbol!
I hate Morocco's colors - really, those are revolting to see, their city names are hard to read, it freaking looks like Santa-land. Easily the worst in the game, the only one worse than them is the Confederacy!
I will have to wait and see for the Shoshone - a Teal foreground doesn't work for The Aztecs, so I'm worried I'll dislike them because of it, but the Brown might make it a pleasing choice... Besides I've wanted a brown civilization for a while now...
I actually kind of like all of these. Even Morocco's, which I thought would look too Christmas-y, looks fine to me. I like the yellow-and-gold that Assyria is rocking, and Indonesia and Venice both came out quite lovely.
But none of them are as crisp and beautiful as Portugal's.
