Guys, let me hear your thoughts on your favorite wonder. Be it natural wonder or a national wonder, discuss why it is your favorite wonder!

For me, my favorite wonder would be The Louvre. I don't know if it will come back in Civ VI (most likely it will), and being a culturally-inclined player, I usually focus on having this wonder on my city, giving the much needed boost to tourism by the way of better theming bonuses.

Visually, this would look good in Civ VI since an entire tile will be dedicated on its placement. I would also hope the model includes the Louvre Pyramid, since it is so modern looking.

The Huey Teocalli - it's being available only to pre-orders and unlocking after 90 days for others is truly wondrous 8)

Oracle- traditionally my favorite wonder, aftet the temple of Zeus. Butbsince it doesnt seem the temple is in the game right now, oracle

As a football fan - the Maracanã of course. Also the design looks really good.
Favourite in-game effect, so far Venetian Arsenal, seems extremely powerful (might need to be nerfed).

The natural wonder I fancy most is Yosemite, because I was hiking there when I was in the US this summer. :)

If the Venetian Arsenal allows x2 of any navy unit built, in every City (and not just the city it was built in) then this is the one for me.

Alahambra because +1 military policy slot will always be useful in my domination games (so in all of them )

Stonehenge. I love religion (in Civilization) and securing the wonder guarantees a religion at least 20 turns earlier than anyone else.

Great Zimbabwe seems really cool and powerfull, +2 gold/per trade route per bonus resource!

Ruhr valley and jungle petra chitzen itza looks awesome to.

The on a tile wonder change is what I like the most.

I assume that you mean in CIV V and I've lost first religion even with stonehenge, so you expect a little to much of that wonder. In CIV VI it won't give your a religion.

I am speaking with regard to Civ 6.

Stonehenge
Requires: Astrology
Yield: +2 Faith
"Grants a free Great Prophet. Great Prophets may found a Religion on Stonehenge instead of a Holy Site. Must be adjacent to Stone and on flat land."

I examined Stonehenge extensively in another thread on these forums.

I like the Alhambra, Potala Palace, Forbidden Palace, and Big Ben for their added policy slots? It's one of my personal goals to build all of them while playing Germany.

Big Ben. Doubles your treasury, gives you an extra economic policy slot and grants +5 gold. Considering some of the economic policy cards are quite strong, having an extra available bonus is great. Additionally, if your treasury is doubled at the right time you could have a massive amount of gold to use on unit or great people purchases as well as upgrades.

Maracanã is cool and all but I don't think it's wonder worthy.

In the context of Civ-gaming I think it most definitely is. I mean, Ruhr Valley and Venetian Arsenal are wonders in cVI, and they're huge industrial zones (although historically important ones). Why is that more wonder worthy than the (once) biggest stadium for the world's most popular sport?

In earlier civ-games there have been wonders like Cure for Cancer, Art of War, Thory of Evolution and King Richard's Crusade. So you can see that wonders in the civ-series has never been about world wonders in the strict and traditional sense of the world.

And IMHO variation is good, and with the inclusion of Professional sports as a civic, I can't think of a much better candidate for a wonder.

Good points.

I was thinking, usually I gear up for my big wars in industrial era in civs 5, assuming you get Big Ben around that time being able to rush buy a big industrial army with a perfectly timed double treasury bonus could become a main strategy.

Venetian Arsenal - just think if playing England....

Somehow I wish there was something in between Wonders and Buildings.

Similar to CIV5's National Wonders, maybe even limited per game (like, can only be built by the first 3 Civs). Examples could be a supreme Intelligence Agency or a famous Touristic Vacation Resort.
