PCHighway, Babylonian UU is bad and has a bad upgrade. Use BAbylonians for peace only
Try Telling the Zulu that Bowman are bad

The first Deity game I won was a Conquest, with the Babylonians. I defeated
4 of the eight civs Before
They entered Medieval. So I have nostalgic reason's for defending them.
Higher Game
Don't sell the Babylonian UU short, however. In multiplayer, they will be very powerful early in the game, especially for small or tiny maps. They aren't much weaker than swordsmen, they don't require iron, and they are cheaper. Babylon is a very powerful civ with a good UU, but the GA is too early for my style of playing.
Give the man a Cigar! All his reasons are correct however, Do not say that They are only good at Mp, Like I said, they are strong enough to take a city, hold it, then when invention comes BAM you got 500 Longbowmen running around taking out spearmen, (the scientific trait should keep you ahead of other civs) Also If you keep a Great Leader, and hurry Leonardo's workshop, which conveniently comes with invention, just like Longbowmen.
Then you'll have plenty of money to hurry some Pikemen or if you haven't got Iorn, then just dont upgrade some Babylonian Bowmen. To protect your Longbowmen. This is how I defeated 4 civ's before
they got to Medieval. True, They are not overwhelmingly good themselves, However, I consider The Bowmen's rein to last from Warrior code to Gunpowder (when you get the Musketman) That is quite a long time.
And if you play your cards right, You should be faaaaar ahead of other civs in tech, either by letting the first you civ you attack live, if he gives you some tech's (and an alliance vrs. the next target) Also The other civs shouldnt be to much bigger than you. Early on.
Btw, I would also like to add that the deity game I played was standard size, but Pangea. Also the early golden age helped me keep up with the unforgiving Deaity AI. Also I
DID use knights but they cost 7 shields while Longbowmen only cost 4!
