What kind of feminist are you?

I promise this is not Zardnaar bait.

Anyways, I came across this test that gives you percentages of how much your views align with a certain sect of feminism. There are five listed: traditionalism, liberal, radical, marxist, and cultural.

The site offers background info on these sects, but it doesn't offer any feedback on your scores. It just offers the percentages and leaves you to interpret them as you wish.

Here are my results:

The questions are kind of bad and lack nuance, just like any other political or belief system quiz. That said, the results don't surprise me. I think they're mostly right in my case.

Do the test yourself: https://www.idrlabs.com/feminism-5/test.php

Feminism is pretty much a synonym with egalitarianism at this point, since it is not exclusive to the struggles of women anymore, and hasn't been for decades. What I dislike about this development is that some are left out of the equation, feminism is not a true egalitarianism in any way. Many of those groups that do not have a strong lobby kind of fall under the radar/aren't represented. Disabled people and travelling people would be two I can come up with instantly, though the former have been somewhat included in some strains of feminism, the latter are almost always ignored. The general hatred for Sinti and Roma people, especially women, and the sexual violence against them, is ignored by virtually every strain of feminism.

I liked the "women are generally better people than men" question and went all out. I also liked this one: Men's tendency to find young and slender women more attractive than older and plumper ones has as much to do with the media as it has to do with biology. and went all out. I think the media's sexualization of everything, but especially young female teens, is ****** disgusting and is largely at fault for breeding a caste on incels/hephebophiles/porn addicts. the "male gaze" is also reinforced every day via advertising.

really, really cool test. only thing I disliked was the question about Trump. freaking Murricans. I thought most of the questions were pretty decent, much better than the dark test.

my chart:

18% trad
62% lib
70% rad
78% marxist
72% cultural

I personally do not consider myself a feminist, and definitely not a liberal. I have read some marxist feminism and I think it's pretty decent. I don't usually agree with radical feminism but they have some really interesting observations. I don't know WTH "cultural feminism" is supposed to be, but looking it up it seems to be pretty close to what I believe. so the test did really well.

I don't have a problem with Judith Butler, I just think I'm more of a Simone de Beauvoir type of egalitarian/feminist.

I think the middle option is clearly "it depends", "I am ambiguous", or something among those lines. I had to use it very often. also, hurray team marx!

EDIT: Wait, do we literally have exactly the same results? Are you me?

Couldn't easily find the info on how the "sects" are defined, but isn't "Traditionalism" pretty much the polar opposite of any sort of feminism?!

yeah, that is the point. they included it as a reference for people that aren't feminist. also, you should find a wiki article for every of those sects. Rad fem, marxian fem and liberal fem are pretty established categories in the humanities.

Ah, I thought you could only answer yes/no
Redone with nuances

My feminism rating is apparently "HTTP 500". That was 10 minutes well spent. I can only assume my answers were so hateful that I crashed the server.

Well I was just talking about the statement "The site offers background info on these sects". I couldn't find it on there, and when I clicked on the stuff at the top I just ended up in some other tests.

Before taking the test I consider myself a moderate 2nd wave feminist. I’ll find out soon after I take my test on a proper computer because it doesn’t load on my phone.

One may be so inclined as to scroll down on the results screen to see definitions and explanations. If it's not too complex of a maneuver for you, of course.

Trad. .. 65%
Lib. ... 74%
Rad. ... 18%
Marx. .. 25%
Cult. .. 21%

I’m not sure what each school of thought entails, but I agreed or strongly disagreed based on my most literal interpretations of the wording of the questions.

I’d be curious to see the 18% or 25% I agree with radicals or Marxists. I suppose that would be that I think women should be allowed to vote?

Edit: I’m just seeing now I can go down to see the definitions.

It wasn't made clear that one would have to take the test first in order to see the definitions. But since the test doesn't work for me that's not an option anyway.

I scored very high liberal feminism, pretty low everything else. Which sounds about right. I think women as individuals have the same rights as men. But I don't have any issues with the portrayal of women in the media, I don't think men inherently oppress women, etc.

This is what I got.

I couldn't understand some of the questions and had to leave them blank though.

No not really.

Surprisingly close to amadeus.

They think a woman’s place is in the communal home, but it’s her choice on be there.

The URLs to the results images have the numbers in them, so you can just type in whatever numbers you want :)

I tried changing it to negative numbers and got a 404 error. Damn.
