edit: 6-posts in a minute - record?!

edit2 : oh just a normal double post, somethings wrong with the forum or my browser..

Rap, rock, country, and Metal, Bluegrass, Techno and hip-hop.
Before anyone asks, I listen to Classical.

i don't like...

redneck pop ("country")
corporate rap
wannabe hip hop R&B
post-grunge
"america rock"
most industrial, with exceptions
bands like emperor or gorgoroth, but i do like black metal influenced metal
pop punk
singer/songwriters (though i've heard a handful of honest artists)

sure there's more

There is a lot of music I hate actually.

Outside of strenous workouts, hiphop music is completely useless to me, as is most heavier rap. I can't make a blanket statement on all rap, though, because I have MC Hammer on my iPod.

What I really can't stand are those lame preppie punk bands that sell a million albums and a line of T-shirts. Their fans snub you if you aren't as "cool" as they are, and then think they're some kind of alternative rock rebel. (Billie Joe Armstrong, I'm talking to you)

The above receives my full approval.

Thats waht I was trying to describe in my earlier post but you did it ten times better, this is a pretty much perfect examplification of my thoughs, my god, bless you.

I don't mind them apart from the obnoxious, arrogant and downright annoying fans.

I don't hate any genre really, but some genres have very few 'bearable' songs.

Among these are techno, trance, etc and swiss folk music. It's very hard to find a song I like among these genres.

I hate it when prog bands overdo it.

I hate the music what with the angsty kids playing powerchords over and over again and screaming with no apparent music sense.

99% of rap. I have heard a few semi-decent songs. HOWEVER, as a genre, not so much. Hip-hop is pretty close by, with maybe a dislike meter reading of 95%. I have heard 1 or two country songs I've ever liked, both only the Beatles cover versions.

Music thats sole purpose is noise is not so great either. I need to feel the music. I also hate SOME classical. Some is nice and pleasant. some just makes me want to punch somebody.

Finally, anything with a Brittany Spears/Christina Aguilera/american or canadian idol winners/american or canadian idol LOSERS/Avril Lavigne and a few others fit into a special category of hate.

I can't stand gangsta rap.

I can't stand loud noises... so I hate any kind of music that is too loud. And you know which kind of music that just have to be unnecessarily loud.

Power Metal, and 80s hair metal. The 2 actually sound kinda similar.

Power metal is about dungeons and dragons and orcs and goblins, while 80s hair metal is pretty much the same music, only with lyrics about girls and drugs (and it was considered cool during the 80s, where as power metal never will be considered cool).
