[GS] What openers will you use for the new GS civs?

How would that work in the build order though? Isn't Magnus still nec

If you had to make a exact build order for Rome, what might that look like? You'd still want to et a 2nd city out ASAP for the 6 pop civic boost, right?

Was thinking Settler -> Scout w/ a Builder purchase. Then spam warriors with Agoge in while you wait for Pingala to get you to Political Philosophy.

You have to understand something with Rome... all this monument culture is great but if you bust through civics too fast at the beginning you are paying too much for your districts. This game has some interesting balances.

Magnus is great and typically needed, remember though, we have more early wonders so more competition from the same number of civs. Regardless getting it fast is good, it is really only key for fast culture victories but Pingala/oracle is a powerful GPP maker....and this counts for world games now also.
The order is complex, you need Magnus before Oracle what is between the start and then can be flexible based on requirement, at least you do not have to build a monument. You also need some troopsand yes, a settler ... the thing is why are you going for the 6 pop civic before the district build civic.

Yeah that's why I am really not sure how to order my progression with Rome. You'd just beeline Craftsmanship -> Stateworkforce then? Do you even try to hit boost (improve 3 tiles) and (make speciality district), or is it not even worth it with Rome since they have so much early culture.

And if you do make a district for Stateworkforce, which one would you typically make?

I am trying to not screw myself with the district purchasing algorithm. Are there any quick tips to avoid doing this? Just avoid researching too many techs w/ districts?

Not a big Rome player, it is sort of about what feels natural, what do AI have to get in roughly how many turns. Writing is typically the best choice because it is fast and so the district is cheap and gives you something other than faith. However encampments allow for more iron storage... I think legions need it now?.. the great general is great... if I can kill 3 barbs early it may change my choice... also the encampment will get you the raid card faster.
The thing many forget is that the plaza gives +1 adjacency so 1 mountain, and the plaza give you +3 adjacency on that first campus.
