What OS do you use?(Please leave in OT)

Just curious what OS people are useing. Maybe even Why.

I personally just switched to Linux Ubuntu. And It is great. Fastest OS I have ever used.

Windows XP on my mom's and my own computer. WHen I get my new computer it too will be XP. Once I become a bit more computer literate say, this summer, I will get knoppix or some Linux version and try it out.

I switch between Windows XP (mainly for games) and Suse 9.? (for all the rest) using a bootloader.
Why Linux?
- I just had enough of being paranoid about all those bloody worms and viruses
- I felt infantilized by Windows
- you can get so much sophisticated software for free
- after getting used to it, I started to love the command line interpreter (was quite hard for me in the beginning, I was only familiar with that nice mouse clicking), btw if you like your mouse you can still use the windows-like interface
- if sth is going wrong, the OS actually gives you some meaningful error message, not just that send it to microsoft crap.
- ohh and everything is soooo stable now
