What is the best pet?

Do you think its the dog, the cat or the snake? or dont you like any of them?

I used to have a 5-foot long Colombian boa constrictor, but I had to give him away earlier this year when I started at college.

In my dorm I don't have any pets, abut back at home I have 2 dogs, a cat, a turtle, and 3 fish.

Pets stain carpets, shed fur over everything, stink, drool, etc. I have no use for them. I didn't vote on the poll because I don't dislike animals, I just don't want them as pets.

I prefer dogs that can earn their keep by finding/retrieving game, protecting my family and property, or herding my livestock.

A dog, because they're not very smart and will do what you say. Cats are smart enough to know not to listen to a damn thing you say unless you're gonna pet them. Of course, dogs being more social creatures has something to do with it, but you never see a cat hanging out it's toungue like a fool. I'd take a dog over a cat anyday.

Some dogs are nice, but overall one ain't fond of pets/animals.

@ sween: I prefer cats just for that reason

@ Dynamic Cow: I got a turtle wich is wery hard to get because of the strict regulations of importing animals to Norway. "Luckily" my sister is allergic to fur-pets.(actually got it in sweden)

Cats seem to like me more than dogs do, but I could go either way. Dogs have a higher probability of doing something annoying.

Dogs or anything that doesn't screech or yell as loud as a MaCaw (loudest bird in parrot family i believe or it sure seems like it!!!)
