IYO What qualifies someone to be a president? (other than getting the most electoral votes) ?

Nothing. If he's elected, he's the president. This is one of the few downsides to democracy.

Being able to lie with a straight face.

Being a natural born citizen of the United States, at least 35 years of age, and having been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years. But that's just me.

He must be a man.

But seriously, I'd prefer to vote for someone who has some honor and decency to him. The problem is that no one who fits the qualifications would want to run for president.

He has to lie about fighting in a war, or lie about being not being gay.

And that Christian thing is very liberal. He formerly had to be a Protestant White Man.

JFK was a cathoholic so that might not be 100%.

Well all I see here is that he has to be a white man with some sort of belief in Jesus.

Oldish white guy with lots of cash, and the support of either the Democratic or Republican parties.

Thats right I forgot indipendant thinkers have no chance in hell.

Technically the candidate must be older than 35 years old per say in the US Constitution.

Personally, if enough people want you to be president and vote for you then thats enough qualification in my book.

The OP nailed it. It IS who gets the most electoral votes.

The voters change their minds so often that no other one factor can be nailed down--except possibly for looks.
