What type of new unit do you want????

IMHO, the modern age is screaming for an enhanced regular infantry representing large divisions of modern troops, instead of the vehicular forces that immediately hold ground behind advancing armor (mech infantry). This "modern infantry" unit should have a massive defense value, a hit point bonus (thanks to patch), but slow movement and no airlift. Sort of like an army in one unit. This unit would hold cities and territory securely, vulnerable only to repeated assault and bombardment. Of course, modern infantry should have a huge shield cost to avoid being a panacea for all defense needs.

you know raid & pillage and all that stuff..

Period of the Viking raiders.. up the rivers, sack or capture a city,
pillage coastline and actually capture other ships for their value not just destroy them.

How about some more Cavalry/Knight type units. I would like to have a choice between a fast or strong unit, i.e. sacrafice 1 movement point for an extra 1/2 attack points, or extra 1 def point or simply an extra 1 hit point.

Horse drawn cannons - like during the 1800s. Be nice to have some faster cannons.

Anti-Tank guns - extra chance to hit when the unit is attacked by tanks.




Agent Orange - turns jungle into a polluted grassland.

Seriously, the mines would be an awesome idea.. They should work like in Red Alert : you can see them and your units will never walk on it, but the AI does'nt and will... That should prevent free wandering into your empire.
But it would be a bit unbalanced. Aaah well.

On the whole I think the military units are pretty good and diversified. Just lack a mechwarrior, like in the first CTP

I wish that barracks could upgrade units that are stationed in the city ie a conscript becomes a regular after 5 turns, a veteran after 10. All troops should be upgradeable to a new unit because they can be retrained.. a longbowman could become a sniper
Any physical unit like ships just become junk over time; they have to be discarded

uses grenade spam and if it gets more then 5 victories he is accused cheater and he is kicked.

but, as with modern times, mines in a cities radius should cause discontent and possible accidental population loss...

workers should be able to lay mines i think...or maybe just be able to clean them up...(taking at least 5 turns or so)

definitely would add a whole new element...
