How could these [Rods from the Gods] be detected?

Someone above mentioned that if you could detect the weapons launch, you would have 2-3 minutes; but how would you go about the detection process.

Would radar pick up a falling star? Would there be any detectable eletromagnetic signature? Radiation at launch?

I believe the working name of it was Metal Storm.

And it would create a massive crater without fallout, as it is "only" a kinetic weapon.

I don't know how you would target it exactly, especially if your target moved. But I'm sure it could or has been built.

How would you use it in Civ IV. A national wonder? How would it fire? Could it be shot down?

i bet we would have to ha ve 2 satillite types: space vs ground bomber sats and space vs space attack sats. i would make it a bombardment unit with unlimited range perhaps? would i then have to make a attack sat more like an interceptor fighter then?

Ah, the good ol' Thor concept is rediscovered.

Easy make it a national bomber unit of which only 1 can be built. Then make it immovable and give it infinite and range and 100% range of evading interception and give it a strenght of 1000000000 and unlimited colateral damage. No need for any python.

can you give me some code to make a unit limited to one per civ? i cant figure out where on the unitinfos.xml to change it to that.
