What We've Been Waiting For - Map Packs

The map scripts are nicely made, I think. There are often smoothe transitions from desert>plains>grass land. (Not, as sometimes in the older scripts, marshes adjacent to desert and stuff like this.)

So, there was definitely some effort involved in the coding and the relatively high pricing seems reasonable in this respect.

Regarding the ethnic units:
While this might be nice to look at, it is just eye candy. Not that I would despise it, dont get me wrong here.
But good maps definitely add to gameplay and I don't see, why somebody who would buy some solely formal DLC would deny some well made map scripts.

Aren't current number of civs enough? We have many more civs in ciV than cIV right now (which are of much better quality IMO with really unique abilities) . Any more civs would be an overkill.

Personally I would prefer a DLC which introduces different skin flavours & city architecture for all civs. I would be willing to pay 5-8 bucks for that.

I would agree with Babri. There are plenty of Civs to choose from. What we need is attention to detail:

Different skins unique to each Civ, so an Asian worker looks different to a European worker or Middle Eastern worker - especially pre-industrial.

Local folk music that is distinctly for a particular Civ could be spliced into the current generic soundtracks. There's plenty of folk music out there.

Grammar correction:- "A Assyrian spy stole the secrets . . ."

A generic fanfare and short movie to announce a victory rather than the game just terminating. I'd like to see fireworks!

Maybe play a short version of Funeral March of a Marionette if you lose.

I suppose it's just something that was cut out from the final release of BnW.

I'm really enjoying these. The variety in sizes isn't often found in Custom Maps, and they're generally really enjoyably generated for interesting games. I can completely see it isn't for everyone, but the 3 bucks I paid on GMG have definitely paid off.
