What you don’t want to see in Civ 4

wouldnt it be great if before a huge nuclear war, jesus appeared walking on the ocean and vaporized all nuclear weapons before they destroyed the earth, and then set up a goverment lasting for 1000 years making u become the observer for the next 500 turns.

I don't want railways to have infinite movement points
I want the espionage system to be revamped
I don't want the expansion of the civilizations to be as swift ... as i enjoy a game where one explores unknown territory ... the AI speads the empires too quickly.

and instead of the alpha centauri race maybe have 'the rapture' instead

Maybe if it's this Jesus:

Keep out any kind of real-time system (already mentioned).
Make everything (well as near as possible) an option or a variable that can be modified. Something I love about FreeCiv (hope that's not swearing around here!) is it's huge variety of variables (not least it's Linux! :D ). Far more variables in the game make for a huge variety of possible scenarios with decent editors. :)

a saftey device that shuts down the game after 12 hours of continous play, forcing u 2 sleep or eat or move around in lue of this....
"A computer game addict in western China collapsed and died at his screen after playing the popular online game Saga non-stop for 20 hours, a news report said today. The 31-year-old began playing the game regularly at an internet cafe in Chengdu, Sichuan province, three months before his death, according to the South China Morning Post. An employee at the cafe said he would play for more than 10 hours a day and was found dead on Saturday morning after a marathon 20-hour session, the newspaper said."
thats sad and scarry (he was probaly looking for a key)

there was a story fairly recently about a kid who died after getting deep vein thrombosis (that condition people get after being on long distance flights) sitting in the same position all day playing computer games.

1. AI respawning (you killed 'em once, now you get 2 kill 'em again!
2. Stupid wonders
3. So few maps (theres only 100,000,000,000,000,000 of them, c'mon)
4. Bad scenarios
5. TOO MUCH MICROMANAGEMENT!!!!!!
6. AI attacking you when they have 1/4 of the cities you have.
7. AI cheating.
8. Code I can't read/mod (I know they're writing it in python, but I'm just expressing that I disliked the language it was previously written in.
9. So many bugs.
10. Killer diseases (take 1hp every time it strikes, not the WHOLE unit.)

Since a couple of people mentioned Espionage in Civ3 not being liked, I should put in what I don't want to see

1. Espionage as it was done in CivII ( 2, duex, II)
Spy armies buying up enemy units and cities with impunity was a terrible balance issue. Leave the spy system as is if you don't have a better idea for balance. I don't mind how it is in Civ3.

Brinko:

I'd prefer to see Jesus than Richard Simmons! Especially not at his power pyramid!
