getting all the advances before AD. Is it even possible? (in king mode :king:)

My strategy is:
Build Wonders: Colossus. Pyramids. Copernicus in Colossal city. One, two or three of em.
Form Democracy.
Build alot of Settlers and spread (in same continent)
Not use the luxury trick.
High Science Rate (6 or 7 or 8).
^^I'm usually poor in this period of time [pissed]
Research Railroad
Build JS.Bach
Build More Settlers and irrigate\mine\railroad every spot in city range.

And sometimes I need to develop democracy because some AI beats me to the Pyramids.

And on my version in warlord and higher, you don't have the total freedom of research. On some turns, available advances do not appear in the research list.

So what you say is the best order of developing advances?

Go to democracy is fast as possible.
With high science rate you mean one discovery each 6,7 or 8 turns? That's not a high rate, that's poor. When I'm giving it all I've got I will be getting a discovery each turn.

No, I mean 60 70 80 percent.

Try to set up a profitable caravan route. What you need is a strong city of your own (preferably with the colossus) as far away from a big AI city as possible. Once your city gets up to about population 10, you should be able to get at least 100 coins per caravan. Home all caravans you get to your big city and run them to the distant AI city. All bonus cash from caravans counts toward research. 3 or 4 caravans per turn should complete a discovery. You can set the science rate to 0 and still get a discovery every turn. Set a luxury rate to 2 or 3 to keep your big city growing until it gets to 20. Then you really rake in the cash. When you get railroad, note that a railroaded land square will generate 4 trades and a railroaded ocean square will generate 5 while the colossus is active. This also boosts the value of your caravans.
Delay electricity as long as possible.

I thought caravans only added coins. Never knew they give bulbs. I will try this and see if I succeed in getting all discs in the bc

My strategy:

- in the first 50 turns all I build are settlers and cavalries (no buildings or irrgations)
- set science rate to 100% for first most of the game
- get Women's Suffrage A.S.A.P., switch to Republic afterwards
- build irrigations and railroads only after I have 30+ cities
- secure the shorelines so no one can invade

That's about it.

getting all the advances before AD is possible
even before 1900BC
