What's up with the Athame?

In my last game, I ran across the athame late in the game, on an inaccessible mountain (had to send Yvain to go get it).

In my current game (first one I've played as the Sheaim -- who weren't in that earlier game), I can see a little piece of the map a long way off, and what I can see is the athame.

Where did it come from, and why does it belong to the Sheaim? Or does it?

Hmmm, I don't think so, and certainly not waay over there. I'll see if it's there in the first save. Thanks for the suggestion.

Anyway, is there any history associated with it?

There isn't much lore about the sword itself, but it's the weapon of Yersinia, one of the Four Horseman. Specifically, he's the Horseman of Pestilence. Seeing as he's one of the most dangerous and unspeakably horrible creatures on Erebus, it's safe to assume the weapon is itself a nasty piece of work.
Yersinia can cross mountains and drops the Athame upon death. Perhaps he attacked from the mountain and died, or perhaps a unit capable of climbing mountains eliminated him. Have you been sending the Armageddon Counter up, perchance? If you didn't cause Yersinia to spawn, no doubt you accidentally added it via World Builder.

Thanks, KillerClowns, that's good to know. Since the AC was never so high, I must have clicked something in WB, although I don't remember it.
