Could be old telephone wires in your building. At least that was the reason why our connection never reached over 43K. ADSL solved this problem.

My connection says 100 Mb/s, but it is just sympatico high speed, so I doubt this.....

that totally depend on the area . In my area cable is alot faster that DSL( atleast twice as fast dl) and at the same price . but there is a cheaper DSL that about $8 cheaper and 1/4 of the speed.( i think it's 250 kb dl )
