What's your name?

I share the computer with my kids, who also play ... So naturally I'm Random the Great. The next game I will probably be Random II.

and perhaps someday you'll graduate from Random the Great to Granddad the Great! *giggle*

I always play the Malinese... I've always played the token black race in Civ, and take my name, Mzungu Anajua, from the Swahili words for "The white man knows..."

Not terribly PC, I know ;) I just love the irony. :mischief:

I always use fun insults as my leader name. Stuff like "bastard", "you little b!tch", etc. That way you get a good laugh everytime another leader asks for something -

"Can you help out a friend in need, you pig f*cker?" ...but that's just how my warped little mind works.
Sounds interesting...

You set your name right at the beginning when picking all of your options. You can also change it in game by hitting [ESC] then [Your Details]
Or pressing Alt-D. :)

I'm having a spasm of playing as Roosevelt (the traits and UB suit my style) but I always individualise games by using different names. So far my American leaders have been Dwight, Hiram, Homer and Cletus, none of which have to my knowledge been used here in England. Further suggestions from transatlantic players would be welcome.

It's been a while since I played as the Mongols, but I have a whole string of names ready for when I do so again. Korsai Khan, Yubetai Khan, Shurai Khan, Iffai Khan, Mebiyai Khan . . .

Me too. I usually change the name of my Civ and its people as well. It's a cheap laugh but, what the heck, these days I'll take my laughs where I can get them.

lol that made me laugh you twisted little pig f*cker

Only joking, too funny, you remind me of the people in online games who name their characters, "your mum" etc

First time i shot someone in some game and it said You shot your mum in the head, i rofled a lot.
:D

Hehe, back when I played AO I knew this dude that was pretty good in PvP. His username was "Yourexwife". I laughed everytime I used his name.

Yourexwife is killing people in the shops in bor.

"That's a cool little trick. Where did you learn that?"
"Yourexwife told me."
^That one is my favorite. I got to use it a couple times.

Hey man, have you seen Yourexwife?

If I play Ragnar I'm MadRagge. If I play Elizabeth I'm MadLizzy and so on. To distinguish between games I use numbers. I'm currently playing as Napoleon with the name MadNappe II. :p

Aronnax or default name but i do go crazy sometimes and call me Spongebob Quarepants and Homer Simpson

well, i normally play with the aztecs, and i choose the name "Moctezuma" with C because that's the way we know him in Mexico... I guess Montezuma is the english version... but who cares about the english name for a Mexica King?

If I chose my leader, I use a civ appropriate name. Say Anne Boleyn for Lizzy or Quetzalcoatl for Monty.

When playing a random leader, I add a title based on the level I'm playing plus the name Tidbit (a friend had an old RPG character named Lord Tidbit) plus a number. Thus, when I was playing Noble I had Duke Tidbit I, Duke Tidbit II, et cetera. Now I play Prince, so it's Prince Tidbit I and so on. Monarch will get King Tidbit, Emperor, Kaiser Tidbit. The goal is to eventually get to Lord Tidbit.

This thread reminds me of one I haven't dragged out in years. The one time I played PNP D&D (that's pen-and paper Dungeons and Dragons) I rolled up a character, made him a dwarf, and named him after Gimli's grandfather. For those who know the Lord of the Rings really well, you will rem that Gimli was the son of Gloin. But you'd have to be pretty obsessed to know the name of Gloin's father, as it was only mentioned in the appendix, buried in the family tree.

His name was, I kid you not, Groin.

I always used to do silly names, often quite politically incorrect (eg 'Ping Pong' when playing China). Now that I've been asking for help so much on these forums, I'm tending to play much more as 'Oscar' or a variation on it.

I can't believe I've admitted this.

Alexander. Augustus Ceasar ,Stalin etc I seldom change names it has a better feel to win with a leader named as he should be.

In Civ2, when I was city spamming, I once played an entire game in which I gave a rude (sometimes extremely rude) name to every city I built.

The novelty wears off, believe me.

Talk about names, well someone maybe can help me out here. Can anyone tell me what the "M" in Gaylord M Focker stands for? Martha?
And yes I play as GeT_Kane....
