Okay, folks--for all those threads where your posts came to a sudden halt with no explanation, and everybody else in the thread thinks it's because you lost--here's your chance to set the record straight! (vote for your most-used reason)

NOTE: WAIT UNTIL I POST THE POLL, please! :)

Sometimes I just forget about the thread or lose interest in it entirely.

It's either because I got banned or that the thread slipped away from me. If there's any arguements of mine that you've responded to that I've not replied to, please feel free to PM me.

I voted "real life distracted me." My girlfriend wants to see me 7 days a week, so life is busy!

Because I have the attention span of a goldfish.

The most common reason I suddendly give up a thread (read : not simply leave it because it doesn't interest me anymore), is when facing people that see only what they want to see.
There is no point in trying to explain something to someone who doesn't want to hear it anyway, so well...

Usually because real life distracts me for awhile.

I often stop for that reason also.

usually i stopped posting when nobody else reply to my post or thread. or i had made my point. Also due to real life, i cant continue posting endlessly.

And normally i only posted on threads that im really interested in. If i view the thread as repeat on something i had posted before, i normally ignore it, unless there are interesting articles or arguments.

I'd do it just so I have an excuse to post this:

I haven't seen an interesting OT thread in many months now. The quality of "debate" here has definitely gone down ever since the poster exodus began. And it's not as if it's ever been brilliant. ;)

Im a 15 year old with a brain span of a 2 year old so I wouldn't be so good at it and also the outside world was distracting me *thinks, mmmm max*

As others said, because I lose interest. Many threads are not about issues that interest me that much. For instance, I just view the news threads usually, rather than comment on them.

I usually stop when those I am arguing with show they are nationalists...thus their is no point in trying to convince them of my point because they aren't really listening. :p:

Sometimes threads grow too much and fast and it's difficult to find the end. The search function doesn't work at all here which makes it hard to find my own posts and the replies.

I ususally stop when I have other things going on and I lose track of a thread... otherwise, I'll stop when I feel I've won an argument or made my point.

I stop when

-I got to bed, wake up, and the thread has expanded 10 pages
or
-the thread is going absolutely nowhere.
