Hi,

In my first civ. game and I wiped the only three cities the Americans had, the military advisor shows they have no units and I have the world map of both continents. I cannot for the life of me find out why they still show up in existence. I scanned the whole surface, the only thing I can imagine is they have a boat out there somewhere just floating around. Is this possible? Why won't they die? Any suggestions as to how I can find Roosevelt?

If your world map is not up to date, they could have settled somewhere else, possibly on a tiny island somewhere. Under standard settings you don't need to kill all their units, just take their cities, but I don't know what type of game you are playing.

There's just a few little black spots in the water, other than that the map is uncovered, but what seems odd is it has been a while since I pwnd them but they still have 0 troops. I'll send some boaties out

Your map only shows what was there the last time you have seen a square. The only thing that is updated without you seeing it is when you get the tech for a strategic resource, you will see where it is. If one of your units hasn't been near an area for a while, and a new city is founded, it won't show up on the map until you 'see' it by sending a unit or get an updated map in trade.

That definitely opens up the possibilities. I'm playing on settler diff, standard continent map. I'll have to send some dudes to the other side of the world.

Okay. try this:
Load a Transport or Galleon with units.
Send said transport ship to islands in ocean.
If city is discovered, pwn Roosevelt. Also, try talking to him in the diplomacy screen to see if he has multiple cities. If no cities show up under the "cities" bar, then he only has one. If more than one does, count that number and add one for the capital. This is probably the easiest way to figure out everything.

Your military advisor shows only the units you can see on the map, so he isn't going to show up unless you can see him (not just FoW).

There is always the option of the OP is using the "Requires complete kill" Option.... ( I've tried it once and I swear by all known and unknown gods that I wont touch that button again ..... )

Hey,

I found them. I retraded World Maps with one of the other continent peeps( again) and they showed up although very subtley. The Persions have that light blue empire color you know? Well they're pretty big on the other continent and the Americans just have one little city on the edge so it was hard to pick out their little blue spot at first. Thanks every1
