Hello!
Im not a big forum troll however I love Fall from Heaven 2 but i dont have too much experience from Fall Further.
So far Im really surprised how much more new features you guys are able to add to an already brilliant total conversion.
Unfortunately I dont have too much fun playing so far because i dont find any competition and challenge in the game.
Iam playing ffh2 with noble prince monarch marathon huge maps normally with a bit more civs then the custom game option gives you by default. Raging barbarians, more animals. I love crowded games!
My warriors are really busy all the time the worker doesn`t even risks leaving the city without proper escort.
I played with the same settings bronze, feudalism, some religion with a few different civs like Calabim, the evil lizard and the scions in FF.
The traffic wasn`t even close to the FFH2.
I barely seen any movement at all. Where are the units, animals, barbarians?
What should I do to have the same amount of AI units on the map then in FFH2? It is way too boring like this.
Please advise.

Marathon REALLY slows the game down.

Try playing at standard speed. The AI seems to handle it better.

Also make sure you are on a map with out continents. Currently the AI does not handle Navel very well. Play Great Plains map or Rain Forest or Pangaea. Also keep the same number of civs but lower the maps size some. I play Standard with 7 AI and Me on Pangaea currently. I only got 3 cities before I ran out of space. OR if you really want to play the size and map you currently have try playing with double the AI instead of just a few extra. See if you have a different experience.

Thanks for the advise ill consider it.
Iam always playing on a map with 2 continents or one big1.
I like open spaces not the "migh and magic" style maps (surrounded by mountains to have just only one way to go and the world looks like a dnd dungeon rather a real world)
I prefer marathon I just cant stand the fact that the units are obslating faster then they are moving (if you know what I mean :)
In marathon 1 unit is precious and you cannot afford huge losses.
I was playing FF with the same settins i used to in FFH and checked the map with the builder.
I have the feeling the AI build much less units including the dens, burrows output and the randon barbarian unit spawns. I was just wondering why.
I dont think anyone changed anything regarding this. I couldn`t find a word in the patch notes about such changes.
Is that possible something is wrong with the AI on marathon in FF and that is why i find myself lonely in standard map 12 civs or huge 19 civs marathon game 1 big 1 smaller continent setup ?
Ill give it a go again on standard map and make it even more crowded.
Iam really starving for the new tricks from FF !!! :D

I was never seeing enough barbarians around, so I went and increased the maximum number. Now I have 6 times the barbarians. I have seen cases of half the world being wilderness 400 turns into the game. A wilderness full of orcs. And no matter how many I killed they just kept on coming. Interestingly, no AI civ was wiped out completely by the orcs. Not that they were particularly interested in my cities either.

Kind of sad though, turning all those defenseless goblins into werewolves. Too easy. I really have to let the AI build Baron sometime. Could make for a fun* challenge.

Spoiler :
*Losing is fun.

Sorry i have no idea where can I increase the max. number of barbarians. Can you tell me please where to look?

Civ4HandicapInfos.xml

Barb spawning is actually controlled by the difficulty setting, so be sure to change the right one.

Personally, I like to slightly decrease the random barbs around but greatly increase barb cities.

Thank you for the quick help guys!!
Looking forward to fall even ruther in the secrets of FF/FFH!

try enabling the Increasing Difficulty option, and start on Warlord.

It should hit Deity by turn 300. Makes for a very interesting game
