Where did all my cookies go?

Suddenly all my cookies were gone. I had to re-login into everything. Why is this?

Have I been hacked or something?

Are you using Firefox or IE? Firefox has been know to lose bookmarks. It maybe could lose cookies also.

seriously now, you didn't clean your temp files by accident?

I know for sure that I didn't clean then by accident. I was checking my email, then played some civ, then came back to recheck it, and they were gone.

I am using Explorer.

And no I didn't download anything.

and sometimes these things really are just random events. it's microsoft after all

sounds like a random glitch since I doubt someone would hack you to delete your cookies. you could report it, but you'd be lucky if they fix anything within 3 years.

I just realised that that won't help me a bit if the hacker can still see what I'm writing!

If you're that worried, run all the anti virus and ad ware and spyware scans you can get your hands on.

if someone wanted your passwords I doubt they would have deleted your cookies which have all your passwords.

but if you really want to be freakishly paranoid you should get a program that checks for keyloggers, change all your passwords, get a firewall and block all unnecessary ports, and stop using internet explorer(which is good advice no matter what)

as far as I'm aware all of those will check for keyloggers. If you've already used some of those and didn't find anything then I doubt there was ever anything there to begin with.

It's windows. Sometimes it just screws up. Go use it like normal and see what happens.
